I've been to the top of sailing ship masts (though not quite as high as the ones in the top photo). It's not the height so much that gets you, but the fact that every tiny movement of the ship translates into a huge arc up top. Fun stuff.
The ladies here (single and otherwise) are all very excited for the weekend.
Since I don't wear a uniform, I'm headed to Chicago. More fair competition :)
The ship in the first pic is from Ecuador; not sure about the second one.
I've got a bunch of film photos of one of these Fleet Week/Tall Ships events from 10-15 years ago - have to dig them out and see how many of the same ships are there this time.
I love the parade of ships. I am working by Battery Park this week so I got to see most of the ships go by and meet a lot of the Sailors and Marines headed to the Statue of Liberty.
Times Square was filled with seamen tonight. Reminds me of the good old days as the mop boy at Peep World. Thank You, I will be here all weekend. Remember to tip your waitress.

If you tip your waitress carefully, you will not need the mopboy....
Seriously.. because I climb for a living.. I still find it funny how many people are scared to death of heights or balk at being at heights without something "safe" around them
