Know your market, and know how to lie, cheat, and steal like a used car salesman to be on top. Bust ass to be first to the good deals.
Best profit-takers for me were buying heavily modded but beat or broken DSMs or Mustangs and putting them back to stock and running, then sell
Ok...I respect you and read your posts every day...but this is just wrong. You don't have to be a crook to make money selling used cars.
"Buy Low, sell High, that's my motto!" [/Homer Simpson]
All that said...I DO think it's best not to know too much about he car you're selling. If I know about a car I'm selling (like, if I've driven it more than two blocks) I'll tell EVERYTHING that is wrong about it and some stuff that is not wrong with it but might be soon. The truth is, buyers know cars will break eventually. So...if you don't know much about it, you're in the same boat as the seller. You don't have to lie...but you also don't have to know everything about it (However, as a real estate guy...I feel you need to disclose everything you do know)...

I did it off, and on for about 10 years, and this is the simplest, most painless way to do it. A deal's a deal, but if you can buy and sell the same cars over, and over, it will take a lot of the guess work, and time out of the process.
And remember, a spotlessly clean interior will sell a car every time.
I have made some good deals in the past buying and selling cars that needed work, but many of them became my next daily driver and I would pour some extra money in to do all of the maintenance right.
My question is, are enthusiast cars like miatas and civics easier to resell or are beige mobiles like camrys and accords a better route?

My guess is that Miatas and DSM's are luxuries. Cars like Grand Am 4 doors are bought by single parents who have to get to work. I would think Beige is the big seller.
A "middle of the spectrum" car would appeal to the most people and therefore sell the quickest.
4 Cyl, 4 door automatics with working air con for the win.
Thanks for the input guys. I've got s line on a 94 Accord that needs a distributor. If I can get it for the price I wAnt it at, I'll be good to go.
My brother is Mr. Honda so that helps.
This will be my 1st attempt. If my wife doesn't decide to make it her DD.
If I can make enough money to support my car habit I'll be happy.
