This should be interesting. I like both, so don't shoot the messenger
it was interesting until they compared the bodies of the car... while I am not NASCAR fan.. they could have done better to keep it less tongue in cheek
I'm with mad_machine - it was better when it was more factual. But some of those facts certainly open your eyes. The budgets! I knew F1 was expensive, I didn't realize NASCAR was so cheap. Although how do you have a team that runs on $6.5 million a year when your driver makes more than $20 million?

Product endorsements. I'm thinking that Junior doesn't do all of those Wrangler, Nationwide and whatever else commercials for free.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Clearly a top-20 budget is not a top-4 budget, at least...
I started to write something which was earnestly about how I wished NASCAR were a bit closer to something I could get into, but then I started picking at it and I don't want to be the lunkhead who jacks this thread into NASCAR vs F1, the not-a-funny-graphic version...

Seven second pit stops in F1?!?! Whoever made this has never watched a modern F1 race, and I'm willing to bet they know nothing about racing other than generalities.
They obviously don't know a stockcar goes through a wind tunnel too.
The steering wheels say it all!
Seriously, though, a sage once told me, "the easier something is to do, the harder it is to be the best at it."
It was interesting stuff until it got silly. While I'm not thrilled with everything NASCAR has done over the past 10 years, I'm still a fan. I just can't get into open wheel racing. The F1 car is an amazing technological marvel, and comparatively a stock car is still in the stone age. Even still, I"ve always been a stock car guy.

Given you have Hendrick out there with 4 cars, Roush with 4, RCR 3(?), Petty 2(?), for "50" drivers there aren't many teams to really drive for if you wish to switch.

You could have your own team for an easy few million dollars.

I knew back in like 91-93 in one of the circle track rags said it was 5 mil before you turned one wheel on the track. But I think that included leasing engines from one of the big boys, especially plate ones at $35k/each, and one each of the chassis needed to race, super speedway/intermediate/short track/RR.
I am sure with inflation and tech "advancements", you are closer to 20 mil before turning a tire. Then how much every month to keep the doors open which is probably a mil.
Probably cheaper to go run one of the RR prototype classes with top of the line equipment.

But they used to be slower when they still put fuel in the cars.

Exactly what I was thinking. Fendered cars are soooo much better to watch. Sportscars or stock cars.
Also, as far as pitstops, When there a 37 people in the pit stall literally sitting waiting on a car and not using floor jacks and drop cans for fuel, its not hard to cut time down.
This last race F1 pit stops were mostly in the 3 second range with many well under 3 seconds.
The race before last Hamilton changed all 5 wheels in 3.3 seconds. (steering wheel)

NASCAR on the road courses is crazy, THEY PASS EACH OTHER AND EVERYTHING. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSvMrgHrAzQ
I love watching NASCAR on street coarses. I just find ovals really boring to watch. Just to be clear I never said it didn't take skill to do ovals just I don't enjoy watching them.
I love F1 cause of the technology. It is an engineer's wet dream.
