Digging for yourself is no good because just about everybody in the US mass media uses the Associated Press or Reuters or similar. AP is DAMN sure lefty. So that leaves you with bloggers who are just spouting opinions with no facts to back it up.
wrong..
if you would listen to me and read the christian scienence monitor.. They have their own correspondants and only have ONE religious article per publication. They are the best non biased news I've ever found.
+1 on the Christian Science Monitor, they are a fantastic news source. I forgot about them

Please note: I chose a nice way to tell you the way I feel instead of saying what was really the 1st thought that popped into my head. Which was something about using the word sheeple to justify your "honest and virtuous different life in the trailer park as being the only true way..
and in that one phrase you discredit everything you said previously. If you're going to call me trailer trash, just do it. The offhanded, backasswards way you go about it just makes you look like a douche.
I use the word "sheeple" because of the mindless masses that believe whatever the magic talking box tells them to do. Don't like it? Don't act like them. If you have a personal conviction and an interpretation of reality that is not influenced by the magic talking box then you are not a sheeple.
Sheeple are stupid. Sheeple cannot think for themselves and do what the media tells them to do. Sheeple cannot comprehend anything outside of the magic talking box. Sheeple feel the Gov't should tell them what to do, when to do it and how it should be done.

Sorry. It was rather unwarranted.
Then we're two peas in a pod.... just on opposite ends of the political spectrum!

Sheeple: the people who populate most of the highways I drive daily. That term sure as hell fits this application.
It's not too difficult to figure out why the media is mostly liberal. Most news folk view themselves as doing a job to right wrongs and protect the little guy, which is pretty much a liberal thing. The problem is that their ideology often blinds their objectivity. They believe that helping the poor downtrodden peoples takes precedence over thorough and fair reporting. So while they may not outright lie, they may selectively fail to report interesting facts that would otherwise discolor their stilted ideals.
I watch no network news. I find it mostly useless sound bites. Cable news does in-depth analysis of stories and I'm able to pull more from it. Fox and CNN are the best, IMO. MSNBC is just Al Franken nutso. None of them are completely objective, but I'm able to use my own common sense to decide what is real and what isn't. When I've got some of the anchors being right more often than not about things, I tend to pay closer attention to them than some of the other 'elite' media noise.

Can any of those programs really be considered 'news'? I think they're more accurately identified as talk shows. Using them as your news source is kind of like buying the newspaper, throwing the front page away and reading only the editorial page instead.
^ I can't say that's a bad idea from most of the newspapers I have come across.... might be a little less biased.
