Worked for me.
i thought the repeat of the cab and beetle in the same places as the original chase was good, but you could definitely tell where it was being sped up in places. oh, and it needed more shots running down the hill shot from the back seat of the mustang.

My complaints are: 1) Both cars were shedding underside parts 2) She didn't stick her head far enough out the window when she had to back up.
It doesn't cost any more money to drive quickly than to drive stupid

That was my first thought. Unless they jack these things up to '70s-like ground clearances it's just going to be some shots of a late-model Mustang with a chewed-up splitter and rear bumper being worked off of numerous crests by some dudes. I think there was even some scraping in the original Bullitt chase.
Just watched again. Still liked it. Come on, they're in a car chase in the middle of the city, they're not going to drive all precise like highbrow racers. The only thing that irked me was, the Charger in the original exploded because it ploughed into a tank of gasoline. The Charger in this one exploded because
In Bullitt, they DID drive like highbrow racers. That's why it works so well! These guys were really trying to go fast.

CGI haterz suck. CGI pays my bills. Though mine happens to be architectural visualization, I love movie CGI as I use the same software. One of these days I'm going to do a movie with desktop software to do the CGI.
Hate all you want. Call it not as good as the original. That still had a lot less suck than 99% of TV.
Jay Yeah I have not been to fond of the new generation Chargers myself though the latest restyle with some lines added from the old ones has really made me like the look of the car more. Though best new Charger chase scene is still the end of Fast Five
I loved that they still had that old green bug still crawling around those hills.

It exploded because it was upside down. I've watched enough TV to know everytime a car overturns it explodes. They were lucky it took so long this time.
I'm sure I'm gonna draw fire for this, but I actually think I like the sound of the 5.0 Mustang better than the original. I was with them right up until the immediately burning and inevitably exploding Dodge. What I don't understand is, why the hurry? Obviously, the car is only going to explode when they get the proper distance away. Far enough away that they don't catch fire like marshmallows at a Boy Scout jamboree, but close enough they can still do the always cool "explosion knocked me down" stunt. They lost me there. . .
I liked it. Had to avoid the links so I could see it in the show. I love that show. Will most likely be axed.

OK--that was pretty well-done. The Mustang sounded FANTASTIC.
I'd gladly buy a steak dinner for a woman who could drive like that.

I used to work in TV. Being canceled is very often the mark of a quality show. Especially these days..
Played fine for me. Chase was okay, but not nearly as good as the original.
In general, anyone trying to recreate a Steve McQueen role is going to fail. No actor today is close to that awesome. I'll say the same for Newman, Bogey, and Mitchum. Don't even bother attempting that level of coolness.
