I was flipping through the new issue and caught this photographic proof of my attendance at the $1500 Challenge:
That awkward fat kid in the background is me, standing behind my dad's 1968 AMX, which he was drag racing as the first Challenge rolled through. I remember that he wasn't impressed with the 14-second cars (his car runs 11.0's @125 with an n/a 390/4-speed) but I was impressed by their affordability and when I learned what autocross was and that they did that, too, I was hooked and started buying GRM's. Thanks for the funny picture, dad got a kick out of it, too! (He still has the car, he's had it since he was 15)
