I'm in duluth mn to see the bentleyville Christmas lights and visit the Christmas village at glen sheen. Highly recommended if you live close.
Anyway. The lake is angry. 40 knot gusts with 30-35 knot sustained. 10-16 foot waves. Amazing to see a "lake" with nearly surfable waves. The light house by the light bridge is getting hammered.
In reply to Fueled by Caffeine :
We don’t see waves like that down here unless there’s a Cat-2 or above hurricane.
I thought this was for a Gale Sayers reminder to Green Bay.

My cousin lives in Marquette, and went to school at NMU. He was standing at a lookout on a day like this, and an old grizzled man came up and stood next to him for awhile. Dude takes a drag on his cigarette, takes a swig of coffee (or beer?) and says “remember the Edmund Fitzgerald?” Cousin says yeah. Pause of 10 seconds... “Day like today” in an accent that was like if Quint from Jaws was a yooper
I saw water like that once driving from The Soo to Wawa.
Locals here in Thunder Bay drive to Terrace Bay to surf on Lake Superior.
