Let's pretend you need to stock a new garage/shop with chemicals, starting with none.

Wd 40

Pb blaster

Qr electronics cleaner

Brake clean

Carb and choke

Starting fluid

Anti seize.

That's my list. Anything I'm missing?

I've decided since I work in both my garages, instead of running back and forth all the time, I should just stock them both, and rather than scrounge around for partial containers I just want to get all new for one of them.

Maybe brake grease (I like the CRC Ceramic stuff) to go with the brake cleaner?

You have no lubricants on the list.  Fluid Film.  Purple silicone brake grease.

Wd40 isn't a lubricant.

A couple of years back, we had a big discussion about anti seize.  I love the stuff I got from McMaster

As a rust belt dweller, I still stand behind what I wrote in that old thread...

The McMaster stuff is an actual joy to work with and as such I am very likely to use it.

That silver stuff is misery to work with so I would often avoid using it, even if I needed it.

By garage chemicals, do you mean chemicals beside the obvious fluids that your car uses (Engine Oil, PS Fluid, R134a, etc)?

Degreaser.

Fuel stabilizer?

Cat litter/sawdust for spills.

Eye wash station with the small bottles of saline.

I've watched that GRM live like 6 times now, but I still haven't found a can to try out in real life. It really works as advertised?

I've just started using it on the BRZ - so far there isn't much that PB Blaster wouldn't have taken care of, so I can't tell if it's that much better, but it does seem to do the job well.

I really do like it best out of all the penetrating lubes I've tried(which I think is all of them), plus I really do like the smell of it.

List so far from ProjectFarm on youtube:

  • Vibra-tite for blue loctite
  • Pro-seal for red loctite
  • CRC 6026 HD Corrosion inhibitor for underbody sealing- fluid film if it needs to be removed later
  • Loctite copper for anti-sieze, unless its on aluminum. Consider a nickel or aluminum base if it is.
  • Spray Nine for anti-mold.
  • 2+2 Gum cutter for anti-carbon (not legal in Cali, this stuff is legitimately carcinogenic.)
  • Penetrol or Schtchguard to protect patina.
  • Wanna protect bare metal? Harley guys swear by Gibbs spray oil, same with Cold War Motors.

Use the organic Walnut shell based hand cleaner- Gojo is crap, better for wood cleaning than hands.

Other needed things include:

  • Orange safety spray paint.
  • Simple Green for anti-grease. It's been tested to be the best degreaser under hot temps.
  • Alcohol
  • Mineral Spirits
  • Acetone

How many more do we want?
