Hi guys, I know that this isn't car related, but it is a gas related topic! :) So I have had a battery operated trimmer which I used to maintain my front yard, but it is broken, the battery is E36 M3 and I want to get something else. I was reading on the Weedeater hero that there are two types of gas trimmers (I decided to go with gas this time) But, I don't understand the 2 and 4 cycle trimmers? What is their actual difference, if you put aside the size and the weight? What about their performance, which one is better for an average shaped front yard?

If not canoe - Buy a Milwaukee M18 and never look back.

Buy once cry once.

2-cycle requires premix gas/oil. 4-cycle uses straight gas and engine has oil in the crankcase. Depends on preference. 4-cycle is a little heavier but not significantly.

My preference is one that takes attachments. I have a large yard so gas is easier. Using different attachments mean only one motor to maintain. I've accumulated 2 string trimmers (1 curved and 1 straight), brush cutter, hedge trimmer, pole saw, edger, leaf blower and tiller.
