The thing is...he very well may be a genius. People who are that smart sometimes have difficulties communicating normally with normal human beings. They spend so much time with machines that emotions become secondary.
(though if he is such a genius, how do you explain him not being able to fix his own computer?)
I AM that smart and I have no problems communicating with normal people.
Yes, I am a certified Genius.. my IQ is 181

Dude, wait, What?
I don't understand.

Show off.
I was an active member of Mensa for years. The genius society. Many of those people had serious problems dealing with normal folk. They don't know how to communicate, many have led quite isolated lives. Some were extremely social and a lot of fun to be around. But not all, by a long shot. Overall, a great place to pick up chicks! That was NOT a joke.
You're so smart you had to post it twice!
lol, that guy is interesting. I agree, may very well have a very high IQ. But like my momma always said, there's different kinds of smart. I sure wouldn't hire him.
My IQ is 182. Last week I sold my car to buy gas. Can someone show me this shoestring knot nonsense again?

Genius is pain!
(not safe for work in try National Lampoons style!)
I took a Mensa test some time ago and it said close but no cigar, practice a little and try again. I didn't. Some friends are Mensans, and they are actually extremely bright, sociable, talented and successful people.
Haven't met the rest of the club, though.
That dude's not a genius, he's a retarded sociopath. The way he talked himself up, powerful friends, women love me, that says to me that he has an imaginary life that he's convinced himself is real. That doesn't make you a genius, it makes you mentally unstable.

He certainly does feel good about himself, doesn't he? But hey, he doesn't look disabled. That's what counts. He is kind of an ass hole, to be sure.

I've taken practice tests a couple of times. Sometimes pass, sometimes not. But I don't think the Mensa test is really a measure of intelligence. A lot of it measures education. I think my son in high school woud do better on it than me. I never got a good math education. Doesn't mean I couldn't do those problems, just means I don't know how. I don't know how to replace a sewer lateral either, but I'm pretty sure those guys who destroied my back yard aren't any smarter than me.
Put some building code in the Mensa test and you would get a lot different results. Hey, why don't they ask you to explain instant center or late apex? All the smart guys I know can do that.
well. I think I used all my smarts on common sense.. because I can't do the math. I actually have a VERY hard time learning theoretical subjects. Let me hold it in my hands.. and I can figure it out.. show me instructions on how to do something... I am totally lost

I'm kinda like that. I know a guy on another car forum who is the opposite. Knows everything about induction- carbs, intakes, all that. Can explain ten ways to Sunday why something will work better in some case or other. He's always right to. But can't rebuild a carb to save his life.
Like momma said- different kinds of smart. I like to think guys like us are more MacGyver smart.
