I like the idea of filling the pallets with sand. I'd probably try to bolt the pallets together (because the screws might work loose in the plastic)

In hindsight... I should have done it as a traditional floating deck, but it is ghettoriffic. I had about 28 people over last Saturday. Smoked a 15lb Brisket, 8lb Venison roast, and later in the night 10lbs of wings (which then got dropped into the 6 gallon cajun fryer) and had a great time.
A friend that was over earlier in the week on Sunday was shocked that I finished.
Thanks for talking me through it guys. I'm sure I could have made many better decisions. But for something I needed to get done in a hurry and on a budget... it worked out.
I think I want to swap the waterproof sunshade for some type of roof panels as the next thing... but that can wait a bit.
