I love don't know what I love more- her total lack of patience for people blocking traffic, or that she's rocking a 10 year old Jag wagon.

The article doesn't say whether she passed the pedestrians sideways with a rooster tail of dirt flying up, so we're forced to assume she did
That is an entire article about a little old lady driving a little bit onto some grass to go around some pedestrians.
And you linked it.

What, you expect her to ride around in a bullet and bomb proof limo with hundreds of secret service agents surrounding her and looking for second shooters on the grassy knoll?

I agree. I was surprised that she drives.
Similarly, I heard somewhere that Hillary Clinton has not driven a car since 1991 (about 24 years ago.) It is not so much that she hasn't wanted to drive but rather that the Secret Service will not let her drive.

She didn't just drive them, she fixed them too.
OFF topic, but BTW. You guys laugh at the Monarchy, but they also serve in the military. Prince William wanted to see active service but wasn't allowed as he's 3rd in line for the throne, but he still fly's search and rescue. His brother Prince Harry though did see active service in Afghanistan.
She used to drive a plain-jane old Series II Landy when she's out in the country, too. I think she moved up to a Defender 110.
This is a reason to jump on the 'royal family fan' thing that seems to captivate the world. I never knew any of that. I never had a reason/interest in knowing any of it, but now that I do, I like it
I too was surprised to see an elderly head of state was driving. It seems like This is the exact person and situation for which the chauffeur driven Rolls Royce was invented... Seeing her rolling in a X-Type wagon is awesome.
She drives - but she doesn't have a driver's license. She doesn't need one, as they're the Queen's Highways. She also is not required to have plates on any cars she owns.
Seriously.

And yet at the same time, I'm sure she's considerate enough to not do this:
Edit: This is Steve Jobs' car for those who didn't get it. How did he get away with this? In California, driving without plates and parking in handicap spots only gets you a fine. If I had that much money I'd do the same thing for speeding tickets.

this is why i hate people sometimes... they were just casually walking down the middle of the road with their two small precious children in tow, not giving a damn about the fact that they were just casually walking down the middle of the road..

I suppose then that it is nor real story when we hear that she is out driving "like she owns the damn road."

He didn't get fines for driving without plates because you don't have to put the plates on for the first six (I think) months after you buy it because it may take that long for the DMV to send them to you. So he just leased a new car every six months...
