Good Beard Trimmer

I don't need a full-on shaver, I've got a good one that will make me look presentable. I just need a beard trimmer. I've tried a couple of cheap Wahls; they couldn't cut through a strong headwind, much less any hair. I asked my brother in law what he used, and he said some kind of Norelco, he didn't know which offhand. So I got a Norelco, $50 or so, and I tried it. Not too good, although it does actually cut beard. Is there anything better? I keep my facial hair very short, equivalent to only a few days of whiskers. Recommendations?

Did you get a Wahl beard trimmer or hair-cutter thing? I see a kid on my floor using the hair cutting thing, looks like it works well.

I just do the clean shave thing. Tried my brothers braun, other brothers Norelco, roommates fancier norelco... None of them work well at all. I literally spend about 15 minutes shaving until I get to the point where its as good as using just a razor.

I used to use a full size Wahl for head and beard but they are too big. I bought a little rechargeable thing at Target for like 15 bucks and it works great. They have all different kinds around the same price. I think mine is a Remington.

I bought an $18 Norelco one at Walmart about 2yrs ago & it's been working fine. It's the one with a bunch of different attachments & charger/base.

I trim my whole head & face every day or 2 & keep it short, and I haven't had any problems. I don't have thick(much) hair either.

I have a good bit of facial hair, and I trim what I don't shave with a cordless Wahl cheepie. I find the trick is proper depth and multiple passes. Batteries seem to last a long time, so I know the trimmer isn't powerful... just keep going over the trimmed area until it's done.

My roommate has a good one. It can handle his facial hair and my...umm... not facial hair so well he doesn't even know!

It's called a razor you bunch of dirty hippies!

My sister has this shaver called a peanut, I think it may be from wahl, and she cuts the family members hair. This works great on beards, and sideburns. She's had it for probably 10 years, and it just keeps working.

I use an Oster hair trimmer that I bought 15 years ago. For the stubble look, I use the shortest comb attachment.

I just got an $8 full size hair trimmer at wally world. Works fine for my needs.

When I did shave and cut my own hair, I used a pair of clippers (Wahl's I think... ) that I bought over twenty years ago. They're barber shop grade, but I've only had to replace the blades once. I oil and clean them after almost every use. I can draw blood if I'm not careful. Clipper guards and an wahl edger get me to the lengths that I want.

I use a lighter.
