Finally got a chance to go to Goodwood on the weekend, it was a sensory overload. A bit surreal seeing most of your bucket list cars gathered together in one place, along with all of your race driver heroes.
Here's my writeup, with a few pics:

You lead a very cool life.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, make the most of it! See if you can wangle a ride up the hill!

No ride up the hill, unfortunately. Maybe next year
Oooo, already planning to go back!
Next thing to put on the list is the Goodwood Revival in a couple of months. Went a few years ago and it was beyond awesome!

Are you sure you don't need an assistant? I work very cheap.

Not sure if seeing Jackie Stewart, or Mark Webber in my favourite car was the highlight.
One of the highlights for me though, was the Mazda RX500 concept - makes the De Lorean look mainstream.

I met Sir Jackie at the Daytona 24 a couple years back when he was Grand Marshall. I asked if I could shake the hand of a legend, and he said "Oh, I'm not old enough to be a legend", to which I replied "Legendary status is not related to age in any way."
I've never met Webbah, but I have seen the car he drove (I probably could have sat in it, as you have, but I definitely don't fit).
I hope to one day make it to Goodwood, but I'm not sure if I'd rather go to the revival or the festival of speed...

If you go, try to wrangle photographer credentials. Holy hell, the sheer mass of humanity is bloody overwhelming. Really hard to get good shots on the track, particularly as there's very little close access to it for spectators. Also wished I had picked up a program the first day, there's a lot going on simultaneously, so planning is a good idea. Still, you can't help but stumble across delightful, random happenings, like standing next to Brian Redman's car, or bumping into Derek Bell.
Damn girl, I am so very jealous of your life

Thanks - I've been very fortunate.
Great write up! It's a fan festival and hillclimb and concours d'elegance and posh cocktail party and car show and performance rally and supercar sales event all rolled in one -- it's tough to see it all, let alone capture it all in an article. If I'm lucky I'll make it back sometime soon for the Goodwood Revival Meeting.
PS - You can feel like were at the even too--there are hours and hours of event video to the official youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/GoodwoodTV/videos
