The windows on the building are cut outs. Both record sleeves and the inner sleeve are designed to line up with them, so depending on how you have them arranged, the front and back covers display different scenes.

 

 

Just stepped in to post the original version of Physical Graffiti.  Which was followed up by one of the worst album covers of all time:

I completely forgot about the existence of Electric Rodeo. That just brought me back to my first date in a 1989 Chevy 2500.... The CD in the player was actually Shooter's first album, but Electric Rodeo was sitting on the armrest. I specifically remember her moving that CD, moving the armrest, and sliding over... I should really get a car with bench seats again. 

Then I remember when Manifesto #1 came on, and she thought it was awesome. And it was then that I realized she was really not the type of girl that I should bring home to meet my parents.

Bench seats FTW. Also truck beds. I've already told the mrs that my plans for the S10 start with rebuilding the interior and installing a decent stereo. Not that a single cab S10 is really spacious, but there's always the bed...

One person designed all of these '70's-'80s covers.  That person later became famous, not for album covers, and not music either.  Who?
