Well I got bored yesterday between working around the house and looking for a job. So I pulled out the AR parts pile my brother in law dropped off and my spare parts bin and got to work.

The top black gun is what I have dubbed my "parts bin" gun. Basically I just dug a bunch of parts out of my spares and built it. I think I only have $300 in new parts (upper, lower and bolt carrier) in the entire gun. It has a cheapo ATI stock on that will be replaced with a Magpul eventually. The barrel was a take off from a Bushmaster I built for someone and they didn't want their spares. Eventually I will press out the pins on the OR gas block and replace it with a standard post front sight. Polished up the guts a bit and it has a nice crisp trigger pull. The receivers are an Aero Precision lower and AO upper.

The bottom gun is the one I built for the brother in law. It is actually a rifle for his wife. It is using the billet Black Rain Ordinance receiver set (really didn't like this set, sharp edges inside, pin holes out of spec etc). It has Rock River guts and bolt carrier. The barrel is a Sota Arms 300 Black Out and he had a real nice break for it that I need to find out the details on. The stock on this one is a Swamp Fox he picked up locally.

EDIT: Oh and yes that is pink skull camo on his wife's gun.

Nice looking rifles.

Heck man I havn't even built myself one yet. Though I have another receiver set laying around that may get a 300 black out barrel. Ammo for the 300 is kinda hard to come by at the moment though. I have her rifle all built and he still hasn't bought a single round of ammo for it.

Ross Just cleaned up the hammer, trigger and sear assembly. Just like any mass produced parts they have some rough edges and burs. Just polish up the flat surfaces and clean things up a bit and you end up with a much nicer trigger. You need to be careful you don't take off to much material or you can end up with a run away though. There are some good videos on Youtube actually that will show you exactly what to do and where.

I want to get a 6.8 upper for the lower I built, but it is low priority.

This post might motivate me to finish the rifle.

My dad likes his RRA 6.8. He shot a whitetail last year with it.
