Heck of a weekend! Left Friday to visit our son three hours away, POURED all the way down except for the 15 minutes it took th change the tire. Weather gets cold and the TPMS light comes on, I looked at the tires and wrote it off to the cold - - wrong answer.
VW supplies a full sized spare. Got there and ordered two 225-45-16s to be put on Saturday; snows go on soon so I was going to buy two more in the spring. Ended up with 245-45-16s that a guy got for his Mustang, didn't like them and got all seasons. The 245s had 5 miles on them, still had the nubs, got them for $80 each vs $130.
Had a few craft beers and played with Ian's Saab project while Trish ran to Stu Leonards'. Ian's wife gets home from work (school psychiatrist) and is rattled because a HS freshman attempted suicide n the girls' room. She declined going out to dinner, wanted to veg. We had nice Mexican in New Cannan! Hung out in the basement brainstorming car stuff until 1:00 in the morning. (while leaning on 22 cases of wine) It got ugly.
I woke up at 3:15 when I heard Kim say "Someone's in the house!"
I sobered up quick, told SWMBO to stay here, stay in bed, don't leave this room.

I got downstairs, Ian was on the front porch. Homes are a coupla hundred feet off the road, his is higher, looking down onto the road. Someone wheeled up the driveway with lights on, blasting the horn, finally got out and knocked on the front door. 25 year old girl was bruised up with cuts, someone across the street kicked her butt. Ian told her to get back in her car, lock the doors, I'll call the cops.
Two cop Exploders showed up, then another and another. 7 total. The girl met this guy on line. Everybody gets a seat in the back of different cars. Cop came back and told us the Mom was being uncooperative. 15 minutes later, they take a guy out of the house cuffed, a cop on each side with the through elbow-shoulder grab on each side. A few minutes later they pull out a 200+ lb. hispanic girl wearing a crop top and a thong, yikes!
Girl's car gets towed, cop Exploders exit fast in single file, neighborhood's quiet.
