Thanks guys, I'm trying to keep my Spirits up. pun intended

That's a good point Rob, I am going to need a good PT and most likely a lawyer too. I am pretty sure I don't want any of the ones that have sent me junk mail in the last few days. Would any fellow GRMers have any recommendations for either in the Raleigh NC area?

I've been trying not to chase this particular ambulance, but since you asked, I could handle the case for you. PM me for my cell if you're interested...

Two of the three lanes of traffic traveling in my direction were stopped, not that unusual for rush-hour, but my lane was clear.

This sounds like Falls of Neuse/Wake Forest Rd.

I think it is telling that if you look at the street corners, a lot of times you can see bumper moldings and other assorted car parts stacked at most of the intersections.

I hope you get better quickly, and I'll second the suggestion to go to a PT shop that specializes in active people. When I had my ACL repaired, I went here:

Lori von Alten is pretty damn good.

Yup Brett, you got it - Old Wake Forest Road just north of the 440, if front of the Duke Cancer Center.

Thanks for the recommendation, Lori certainly looks qualified. PT for the Carolina Ballet since '99, team PT for the Carolina Hurricanes '01-'07. Dang, I may even be good at something when she gets done with me.

You'll be a dancing ice skater with missing teeth and a funny looking stick.

Hey ECM,

I didn't want to ask earlier. Were you driving the R/T at the time of the accident?

Yeah. Please don't be pissed at me.

No, not pissed. Sad there's one less Spirit R/T in the world but glad you're still here to tell the tail.

My cats have seen more of me than they wish to, so they are all ignoring me. My foot hurts and I'm hungry.

Humor aside, I have a lead on another Spirit R/T project, which excites me a lot. I'm looking forward to that project, but I may have to get rid of the Celica to make room. I'm OK with that, I would love it if another GRMer could use it.

Can you buy the Spirit back? Anything salvageable? Might give you a head start on a new one.

The Spirit is sitting in my driveway right now. I plan to buy her back at salvage value when the time comes to settle the case. I'm not sure what all we can save, and the clean up guy apparently put the sweepings from the fluid spill inside my car, there's broken lenses and oil-dry crud everywhere. Sucks.
Once the insurance adjuster had a chance to view the car I had her towed home. I just went to get my personals out earlier because she was being stored in a not-so-great side of town.
This other Spirit project sounds complete, but some assembly required. If my current engine is salvageable perhaps it's time to build a little hot rod sleeper pickem up truck like a GMC Syclone clone. I would love to hear her breathe again.

Why did the guy put the sweepings inside the car? IIRC, the interior was pretty good on your Spirit, wasn't it?

Heal up!!

And we are all certain that even the purple nurple will be back to normal soon. I am truly amazed at how the body can heal itself.

I have no idea whatsoever why "they" decided to do that. My interior was immaculate, it looked brand new. I guess they looked at the other guy's new Toyota Avalon and looked at my 20 year old Dodge and said, just throw it in there, that one's a gonner. Lazy basdtids couldn't get a trash bag. Hell, I had a trash bag in my tool kit that I would have given them to dispose of the sweepings. Alas, I did not catch them doing it with all the questions from the police and EMS crew.

Thanks guys, I'm healing up but I'm stir crazy. I would love to take the dogs for a walk. Once I can stand to not have my leg propped up I am going to take them in the wheelchair.
