I turned in 2,800 pounds of steel scrap today from my garage and driveway. 2,040 pounds was crammed into my little 5x8 trailer with horribly old dry rotted tires, and it made it to the recycler and back, twice. almost all was automotive stuff. nothing was a complete vehicle. the neighbor is probably pleased, but nobody cares about him. i'm happy as can be, i have my parking spots back. and i don't have to work around that crap anymore. one day i will stop that "i need to hang onto this because i'll need it one day" routine with stuff that is huge like truck beds or complete front suspensions from 4x4 trucks. the goal is that today is that day. it was rewarding dumping the old 4.3 from my truck knowing there is a 454 in it now. i went nuts on everything with the torch in the dark the other night then started loading crap up. loaded all day yesterday. even torched a suzuki 3 wheeler.

when do you just flip out and go all liquidation on your junk?

it was total junk, i bought it for the 2 piece wheels for my yamaha. missing all plastics, bad mag, no compression, had sat out for years uncovered. i kept the rear axle for a go-kart.

Everything I own is for sale. All of it. I'm almost to the point of scrapping more things just because I'm tired of the Sanford and Son appearance behind/beside my garage. Of course, I do really want an old truck. Maybe I should just embrace my trashy nature.

I have a pile consisting of several old appliances, sundry scrap iron, a cut-up car, tin cans, and a 400M engine with a cracked block. Plus about 4 or 5 car batteries. It's all gotta go...

my collection isn't nearly that large. Yet. I've got a couple radiators and the exchangers from my old home heat pump/AC system that are aluminum, a couple sets of shocks and struts, some old suspension components....couple old grills....I figure it will be enough to pay for the gas to the recycler, but at least I can get it off my property...

Huh. All I have is yard clippings. Those don't bring any money.

I have two cars, two motors, three transmissions, a treadmill, and about 2000lbs in other metal that needs to go. Then we can get into the rest of the junk lumber from the last of the garage tear down, a dead chest freezer, a dead window AC unit and the general creeping jungle that is south east Texas.
God help me.

5,680 pounds of dead suburban and scrap gone.

2 more trucks to go, but they need their engines pulled first.
