I want to publicly apologise to GRM and staff, for disrespecting their publication, in several open forums. I also humbly apologise to challenge participants and their fans. Sometimes I post before I think about the verbage I am spewing. My intention was to bring more coverage to club level racers. I did post a rumor about the financial
health of GRM, that was without merit. I later discovered that source was a GRM competitor. I had no right or motif, to repeat such mis-information. To GRM ,I sincerely apologise, and hope you will overlook my idiocy. I hope I didnt cause you too much damage control. I would like to see more attention given to club level racing. Perhaps you could list podium finishers, from a variety of sanctioning bodies, on website. And have poll voting for different classes, for 5 days, to elect a Racer of the Week. Racers would encourage their fans to log on to vote for them. Thus creating new traffic to your website. Just an idea.
Again, I apologise to those I offended, by my original thread. Joe Harrison
I guess you figured out that the things you posted were libelous.
I expect you have retracted those comments on each forum in which you made them?

I admire a guy who can admit wholeheartedly when he is a butthead.
I wonder what his other 24 posts were about.
I appreciate Joe's ability to apologize, and thank him for stepping up, but he has posted in other forums that he had information we were on the brink of bankruptcy, among other things. Not only is this untrue, but in these turbulent times when a lot of magazines ARE dropping, it's potentially quite believable and thus very harmful to us. So it would only be right that he correct the record in those forums as well.

Ironic that we had a discussion recently regarding slander and libel. You mentioned several times how you have to bite your tongue regarding certain topics, to avoid even the appearance of libel and/or slander.
If this guy said such things, apology notwithstanding, I would have already been in touch with my attorney.
Moreover, what on earth was his intent? Why does he have it out for GRM?? You couldn't be a nicer group of folks.
I was going to make a joke about the smell of fresh cement in the morning, but I feel it is probably best to leave this one be.

people need to spend more time in the garage and less time on the computer. If he was battling a rusty Datsun, this never would've happened.

I would not normally suggest something like this, but this thread should probably be locked before things get ugly.

You people and your lawyers make me laugh.
Well, I had no idea this stuff was going on (see Pete240's comment) but I do have to give Joe credit for stepping up. I'm sure part of it was to keep his butt out of legal hearings but it still takes some stones to do it. So, Joe, what what the freakin' deal? I've susbsribed to doznes of mags and been personally involved with a few and GRM is simply as far removed from the normal mag buisness as possible. Customer service is better than any other company I've dealt with, the mag is top notch and except for the left 1/3rd of the screen, the forums are incredible. What was the deal?

I still like the seething anger that is still evident in this post.
I missed the original post. Pretty douchey stuff.
I think he should suggest his own punishment (to be agreed upon by forum users) but to start, how about "JoeDaPro" becomes the next E36 M3ty shiny happy person word "Swap" ?

What I'm interested in is not joedapro's dissemination of unverified rumor - it's what the internets are for, it appears - but who the "GRM competitor" is. The original rumor was unfounded, unconfirmed "info" from an unknown source. Is the accurate source now known, or is "GRM competitor" simply more fiction?
If I'm going to do business with a company, I need to know if they're professional (like GRM, with whom I do not hesitate to work) or unprofessional (such as certain BMW race teams or the mysterious and shadowy "GRM competitor" whose name is being withheld).

I for one, will vote my confidence with my wallet. Awaiting processing over at the store is my order for 2yrs of GRM, and an additional 1yr of CM (thanks for the reduced rate on CM!).
Fifteen years ago, this magazine was my bible as I tried to run SCCA Improved Touring B on an autocrosser's budget. I never won anything, but I humbled a few folks spending 2-3 times what I did.
It's good to be back.
I did post this same apology on spec 30 site. it is the only other forum that I posted original opinion on. You have a loyal fan base, and I did not mean to ruffle so many feathers. I still believe GRM could devote a little more space to list class winners from nasa, scca, bmw, pca, pboc, etc. These competitors are true grassroots racers.

Don't they already do this?

I googled his username to see what the posts were... but only got this:
now thats just plain ole mean. not to mention untrue. it seem noone around here is willing or able to accept my humble apology. Remember, trash talking and personal attacks work both ways. It seems to me, that some of you out there, are perfect. You obviously walk on water.
I made a post in frustration, and haste, that I have apologised for the final time for. So you without sin, cast your stones. im a big boy, and a generally nice person, but I can play dirty mr datsun man. would rather be friends though. how bout you?
You do not have any legs to stand on here bro, you opened your mouth, which was bad, you apologized which, was good, but how do you expect those of us who do and have loved this magazine to forgive and forget without comment, be realistic.
OTOH try adding some posts that are helpful, productive or simply funny and this should go away.
You manned up now be an asset.
theres more than one joedapro user name floating around. i am happily married with teenage daughters that i love. you however, seem acquainted with these type of sites. i suggest you follow my lead, and delete that post.

I never said it was true and I don't think it is playing dirty. I typed your name in to google and that is what came up. I did not think it was you, I thought it was funny...
