I need to check off-topic more often!

I'm in for this. My wife and son are out of town until late next week so my evenings are going to be all about Forza2.

my gamertag is anonymousDaemon.

My buddy and I started a series last night that you guys may be interested in- the <200hp Challenge. Cars are allowed no more than 199hp (enforced by a race restriction), but otherwise anything goes.

I like the idea of Evo vs. STI and <200 hp cars. Usually when there's a big group, though, it's easier to force everyone into the same box-stock car, but I like building/tuning/painting when I have the time for it.

in other news, d_jabsd has a great avatar.

my name is the same as the xbl gamertag. I also came up with a S2K vs. RX-8 for a RWD series.

S2K Specs: Full Forza body kit, Fikse FM10 wheels, Kuhmo Sport Tires, the second tire width upgrade, bump up wheel size to 18s, Sport Intake, and Full race everything under platform and handling.

RX-8 specs: Full Forza body kit, Fikse FM10 wheels, Kuhmo Sport Tires, Sport fuel system, and full race everything under platform and handling.

I pretty much gave them both baseline tunes and ran around the same lap times at Sebring Club, Rd Atlanta short, and one of those snake tracks. RX-8 has a lil more speed but breaks loose, S2K more nimble and planted to the ground.

The S2K will come out to B690 and the RX-8 will come out to B691 (this compensates for the minor weight and power differences lol).

Building STI right now for that series.

No it's freakin horrible. It's everything from Race Evo on the PC for the console, except gameplay is horrible. I couldn't find a place to rent it so I purchased it and boy was that a bad mistake...

How about online, so far I've only played offline, and think the AI sucks. I did notice the game has way too many glitches such as rain not affecting handling, and damage being very unrealistic.

haven't played it online. Race Pro and Madden both had the same experience with me, they got about two hours of play, now they share space on the shelf together.

I just built an RX-8 and an S2k... without tuning either, i was pulling almost identical laptimes at laguna seca. I'll probably give the RX-8 away to a friend so he can join in the festivities, without him having race non-stop to earn cash.

If anyone wants to race tonight, hit me up.

Wow. My roommate bought a 360 about three weeks ago, and I finally gave into my curiosity. Bought a used copy of Forza 2 (I'm a GT4 fan) today. I like it a lot better than the original Forza. This thing seriously rocks (and I haven't even played with the paint palate yet!). I find that even though GT does some things better, F2 now does others. It's definitely no longer an "inferior" franchise-just "different". And I discovered it has three things GT definitely doesn't..a Mk2 Golf, a Corrado, and Road Atlanta.

And now here's a thread! Probably won't be online for a bit, I'd like to get a better handle on the car classes/controls/etc. before I get online with it. Any advice for a Forza noob?

Online tuning calculators such as this http://www.croisened.com/ are great for baseline tunes then modify them to your liking. The career is awesome but the online racing (if you find a good room without any d-bag) is even better. Forza 2 blows any of the GT games out of the water, Forza 1 may have been inferior, but Forza is superior.

So here is a tuning question, and somewhat of a gripe.

When adjusting toe, which is toe in and which is toe out? The 'help' refers to Toe in and Toe out, but adjustment sliders say negative and positive.

Based on the croisened.com calculator, I've been tuning everything backwards up until today, so now i'm throughly confused.

Anyone have a definitive answer? They should have used in/out instead of positive/negative, or at least told you which way the the front of the car was on the Toe graphic. I always assumed the front was at the top of the graphic, but now i'm not so sure.

Yes. The old Forza used to have an ARROW coming from the little picture of a tire that represents the icon. You know the one: the tire attached to a tie rod and some upper and lower control arms. The arrow pointed down and to the left. They forgot to put the berkeleying arrow in Forza 2.

Basically, if you want toe out:

|---------------------0--------x-----------|

And if you want toe in:

|----------x----------0--------------------|

They called it positive toe and negative toe which I think is idiotic. They should have had the words "IN" and "OUT" at either end of the bar. In case you're still not sure, just set the toe to the MAXIMUM in one direction and look at your car in the game. It will be obvious which way the wheels are pointed.

Hehe. Then try to drive it.

to post the videos save the replay then buy a dongle called a Dazzle then you will have to plug that into your computer then you will have to replay the video of the race. make sure the video output on the 360 in in Standard Def. or it will not work with the Dazzel. i use MS video maker to record the video onto the computer then you can do simple edits and what ever you want. then up load to youtube. if you have a desktop with and tv tuner card the you don't have to have a Dazzel. you just have to plug the red yellow white cords into the back of your computer and have fun.

Thanks, Dirtybird (& everyone else)! This sure feels like it's going to be fun. I notice Forza gives cool cars much earlier, I've already won the 914 and the E-Type. Now if I can just find enough time to get out of these rookie races (not a fan of their Malibu Gran Prix short courses) and onto some real racetracks..

And yes, I've been doing a lot of free lapping. I keep banging into stuff at Sebring because I seem to have the 1979 track map stuck in my head...

Couldn't resist. After playing around in arcade, I figured if I started in Euro, I could start with a Corrado. Besides, I'm old. I was hoping to score some old school British iron. I didn't expect the E-type, though. And I think I accidentally discovered the "region discount program" when I went to buy the Mk2 GTI..and discovered it was about a grand cheaper than when I first saw it on the car menu. I should really learn to pay attention to the blurbs after I finish Career mode races/championships...
