yeah tire pres. would help out a llot
ABS separates the drivers from the... you can finish that one.
I've only had about 10 laps in each car. Ended up at a user conference for work and haven't been able to do much else. I just want to be close to the fast cars and hope that they meet a wall or two.
Lol... i'm a girly-girl i guess. Just can't wrap my head around why we would decrease braking performance from stock, but i'll roll with it. I'll just stay in the back so i don't punt anyone through a corner in full lockup.
NOW i see why you guys run wheels and pedals. Brake button on the controller is an on/off switch.
Use the brake controller to decrease the force of the brakes. It will help with lockups. I think my mx5 is either 1/0 or 2/1... Don't remember exactly.
It appears that we will have to postpone this event!

Do we want to push it to tomorrow or push it a whole week?
How about push it a whole week and drop Indy Superspeedway from the lineup? (I'm not really excited about that one) Just run SS5 in it's place next week.
If you try to reschedule there will be someone who can't make the new time (I can't make it Thursday for instance) and they will feel screwed out of their points. I'm not worried about the points as much as missing out on the fun.
That's why I vote for pushing it a week and sticking to the original time and day of the week.
Damn, alrighty then, i'm down for tomorrow or whenever Unless we want to do a midnight run
See 92, that's why I use the triggers haha it has better control over the braking, less sensitive. That's why I switched at least. Mine is 3 or 4 I think.
I say push it a whole week, don't drop a race.
On another note, my SBC prepped G4 on super soft slicks is a damn monster. The only thing I changed was the tires from the SBC regs and it's running 1:35's around Laguna Seca easily.
I would prefer you push it a week, I can't do Thursdays. I am up for killing Indy also, that first (curved approach) corner after the high speed banking would be ridiculous in the Europa. Maybe you could run a practice with Indy tomorrow if anyone can show up (should be entertaining without practice). Pushing the schedule a week is OK also.
Regarding braking: I set the braking down also. The main effect is that there is a lot more throw in the pedal (0 to 100% braking takes more pedal movement) so control is a lot better. One suggestion to the "thumb" crowd out there is to switch the accel and brake to the lower front control buttons. Since they have a decent throw to them it allows a lot more control, of course you will have to get used to the change (I am used to it because that is what is used in Burnout which I have played a fair amount of).
Hey, maybe they will fix the invisible car issue...

Ah HAH!
I thought it was just a bias controller only. Neat!
Thanks!
Oh, and i vote for push the race a week. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but i'm less than happy with my Celica. Seems i can't find a happy medium between not enough power and dog slow, and HOLYOMFG3RDGEARBURNOUTS. I want to set up some other cars and see what i can come up with.
The celica LOOKS so pretty, though.
I don't want tto drop an event. It could create some issues with the point structure and drops. Besides, I suspect Indy could be a shakeup race for MX5s, since we will all be running in a draft pack.
Are we talking the Indy road course or the oval?
If it's the road course I don't want to drop it. I thought it was the oval and that sounds boring to me. (EDIT: Brad posted while I was typing. Looks like oval. There will be a lot of drafting that's for sure.)
SBC cars with soft slicks are an absolute blast. If you haven't won all the classic car seasonal event races they pay pretty decent money for what ends up being too easy.

Yeah, I was gonna say the same, at least MX5 will be good. I actually did a lap before in the Isuzu, isn't THAT bad, but yeah i'm down for a practice tomorrow. I thought it was the road course?
Last night I installed the mid-range turbo in place of the high-end turbo. My peak Hp is now all the way down to something like 168 instead of 196, but I have about 20 ft-lb higher peak torque and the curve is flatter too. I managed to finally get 2 laps in the 1:51's. Sure they were both barely under 1:52, but it made me feel a little better. I'll be happy if I can put together a string of 1:54-1:55 laps in the race whenever that will be.
Poor Celica haha but yeah since I don't have a wheel, i've gotten used to racing now with the new controller having those triggers and I can control it so much better.
SBC cars with better tires are awesome, I love my Ginetta and Isuzu with softies
and YES I DO hope they fix some server issues to fix the invisible drivers
I tried the triggers for gas and brake, but switched back to the buttons. Couldn't get used to the brake down there. I know it makes more sense to do it that way, but it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks I guess.

You might note that the race description says all the other cars run comfort soft tires. Of course there are no restrictions on what you can run. I am playing with that series now in an Elan with about 470 points and CS tires. It is pretty challenging.
For some reason it would not let me run my 69 Camero. I does say 69 or earlier. I did run the Camero with the same setup I was using in the CM races and a soft slicks, it was brutal. The spool diff pretty much meant the gas pedal was the "lets hit the outside wall now" button in a corner.
If someone can tell me how to get pics off the playstation onto here, i'll upload a few pics of it and the Celica tonite.
I still don't know how, I think you can upload them to a photo site right on there.
but for me
-I'm down for an Indy Road course practice tomorrow or whenever
-Postponing the SS5 race to next Wed. and keeping Indy is fine by me, sounds like a good plan.
In reply to aircooled:
That's one thing I liked about Enthusia. You were rewarded in the game for winning races with the most disadvantaged car. In GT series since the rewards are the same I usullay default to winning through better equipment when I race against the computer AI's. They are not fun for me to race against so I don't care if I have to work hard to beat them or if a cruise to an easy victory or even lapping a few of them. I look at those races only in terms of how much cash I win and how long it takes to win them. If they instituted some sort of variable prize structure based on your car's performance it would be a much better game in my opinion.
As it is the only thing I enjoy at all is racing against real people. Not sure I will ever try to finish the A-spec races. I will finish the license tests though. Those are good time killers. I went through up to the iA one when I first got the game. Mostly just did one take per test, got the bronze and moved on. Eventually I will go back and get better trophies and maybe learn the finer points of driving.

Assuming you have already taken the pictures in the GT5 picture mode, save the pictures to the photo album in the PS3 main menu. Stick a thumb drive or even an ipod into one of the USB ports on the PS3 and copy the pictures to it. Stick it in a computer and upload pics to photobucket or other hosting site.
Sems like there should be a way to send the pics via the network to your computer, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.
You'll need to log in to post.
