Brad,
After last night's testing, it seems for Indy the penalties are not so good. Sometimes you can scrape into the walls and just lose a few mph, other times you get hit with a 4 sec penalty. If there is ever a track to consider running without penalties this one is it. A hard hit into a wall will still result in damage and that is penalty enough I think. I'd hate for someone to get bumped into a wall and then get slapped with a 4 sec penalty on top of that.
I can live with it either way, just thought I'd throw the idea out there for consideration. Also, what about the rolling start idea vs. grid start? I don't have a preference here at all just would like to know. You set this series up and developed the rules, and I don't think any of us will complain if you just make an executive decision on these issues.
+2 for no penalties tonight. Last night, I barely touched the wall, trying to avoid bumping TJ, and drew the penalty. A slight scrape will scrub a few mph, but a 4 second penalty is a but harsh on a course like this. We're all trying to stay clean.
Still keep damage at max, though.
I'm cool with no penalties.
I'm not sure I have an option for the start formation. If I can find the setting we'll do a rolling start.
Also, to be clear, this is our series, not my series. I've said from the beginning that I am open to any and all feedback. My goal to keep the racing fun and fair. The only time I am going to make an "executive decision" without feedback is when someone does something that ruins the fairness or fun of the other racers. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever have that problem.
So far this year, we've: 1. clarified the specifications for MX5s. 2. changed the race finish procedures 3. will remove penalties for ovals 4. change to a rolling start for ovals (if possible)
@Nick... I pay attention.
ahhh your good
yeah we know, we're just baggin on you since your the organizer
and yeah, both ovals and only the ovals have the rolling start option
A bad Celica is probably better than a good FWD this week. I'll open the room up so everyone can get some practice.

Like a dope, i hadn't lowered the Celica yet. Was still on stock ride height. I'm sure that wasn't helping things.
Nick... even like that, i was cutting times over half a second faster with it than i could with your Isuzu. (PS: You're geared too low, you aren't going to be able to draft on the straights to keep up.)
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it tonight...had to orchestrate a showing of the house all last-minute like. D'oh! My 1300 setup for Indy really sucked anyways. Luckily, it's best of 8, so I'll be there next week for Grand Valley.
Hope that big wreck in the MX5 race wasn't my fault... tried to stay away from everyone, it was a big pack and bump fest.
Nick... ima e-kick you in the nuts.
(Wouldn't have mattered, my internet dropped me before i could get in the pits anyways )
I quit after that crash. Wasn't interested in driving around another entire race with a broken car due to no fault of my own. Not too much fun. See ya next week at Grand Valley.
Yeesh I hit too many people tonight. Apologies to all except the Smellica, you drove down into me so eat it!

Ben what for lol
My gearing is all switched for the Indy race, i'm going to switch it back, the regular gearing is great, just not that great at very top end. I had fun with your Celica when I tuned it, I enjoyed it actually...not sure what your doing differently I actually thought it was more controllable in a "drift to exit" out of the corners.
I wondered what the hell happened that race, kind of sucked, although Mini and I had a good battle the whole race. Grand Valley is going to be fun though

LULZ!!!!
We'll see the replay, sir. I will be more than happy to apologize if found at fault.
Until then, WE DUEL TO THE DEATH.

I think i'm just getting bit in the ass by my old school controller button layout and the "light switch" gas button. It's just frustrating because i'm pretty sure it's one of the faster cars in terms of acceleration out there, and now you're telling me that it handles well. I can't get it to work for me.
And i'm gonna punt your gonads because you came down on me in that race. I demand replay of that one, too.
I would have had that E36 M3 on lock if it weren't for the wreck. (And my internet dying lol) I actually have my Miata set up very well methinks.
hahaha oh well I was focusing on the front guys running into each other so I couldn't look back fast enough so sorry about that but I didn't shove you that hard and yeah my interent dying to is always fun. Your sentences just keep making me laugh, "punting my gonads"
I use the R2 and L2, ever since the new controller for PS3 with them I LOVE IT for racing, so much better to me compared to the old school setup, you can ease into instead of the "light switch", which is why I can probably handle that thing better, I think it's competitive for sure
