Ah ok, that makes more sense. I was hitting about 133mph on my fastest laps i think.
What's the power and weight of that Europa?
I've got 206hp and about 850kg of weight. I think a lot of the MPH deficit is from how low i have to take the entry onto the back straight.

The Marcos was 176hp and not much over 500kg. I think my weight is 515kg or so. My top speed before the T1 kink was about 124 I think.
I think for Daytona I will go with the big turbo which gives me a peak of 196Hp (very peaky curve), but about 20 ft-lbs less torque. Have to see, but I think the extra Hp might be better for the superspeedway portions. With just changing the transmission setting I was hitting in the 140s at Daytona. Haven't played with trying to optimize gearing, just used the top speed slider after resetting to default. Slowing for T1 heading into the infield is a chore as is the chicane on the back straight. At least the MX5 cars have some grip.

I think it would have been a much different race if I hadn't been assigned a BS penalty (I am pretty sure apex came down onto me, but ever so I've had far harder impacts without penalty... I wish it would have just let us race it out).
I was behind you guys and from what I saw it didn't seem to warrant the penalty. But that didn't mean I wasn't glad to get a head of you while you were coasting. I wish I could've made it without pitting that race. Based on lap times I think I finished in the right place, but at least I would've been closer without the pit stop. I tend to not practice with the MX5 much because it is so easy to drive compared to the Marcos. If I didn't do a lot of practicing and setup tweaking with the Marcos I'd end up last every time. I'm fairly sure that if I put that sort of effort into my MX5 I would still not be all that competitive, better yes, but not a real threat for a victory.
That's why i'm getting so frustrated with my internet. Why it chooses to let me race the SBC, which i have no chance in HELL of winning, but drops every MX5 race, which i DO have a chance of running out front, is beyond me.
I turned a 2:18 on Grand Valley while practicing with the MX5. Gauging off of qualifying laps, that would have put me in the front runners.

I wish my internet worked............
I raced online on Shift 2 last night...worked FLAWLESS. It's definetly GT5 and it's server. I was doing good and had hope for the SBC race but the that came to a hault and the MX5 which I liked a lot, I even got 2:17 lap times but, I didn't see it happening. Hopefully I can figure this out by next week, maybe buy a new router, it sucked missing the races.
@Nick...
If Shift worked without an issue I don't think the problem is with your router. I'll submit a support ticket with Sony and see what they say. Probably nothing, but it is worth a shot.
Thanks for the post on what cars are available but I still can't find the list on the Admin. Spreadsheet. Can someone tell me if the Mazda 110S can be used?
110S L10A and B are on the list. As is the Cosmo sport.
I should have chosen that car or the Isuzu 117 intead.
thanks aircooled and 92Celica. I've been driving one this morning and got to say campared to its handling the MX5 feels steady as a rock, lol. I've been getting a feel for using the controller with these cars. Sort of feels like my first attempt at ice skating.

More the merrier Graefin. I'd like to see a full field of 16 for both races.
As mentioned previously, you may want to try and change the gas and brake to the lower front buttons (done in Setup on the first main screen). This should give you more control over how much brake and gas you use.

That would be me. With you and apex running Reflex Purple and Purple Passion, my Mid Night Purple was a bit much. Brad has blue covered, 92CelicaHalfTrac and CAM have red, Nick has dark green, TJ's is orange, so I just HAD to do something different.

I'm somewhere around 630kg with 205hp and I was touching 140mph most laps. My 2:27 lap I think I was 143mph.

So far I'm not feeling a lot of love for the old daytona road course. There are two corners I have yet to figure out in the infield and need to find a consistent braking point for the back straight chicane.
I finally connected my ps3 to the internet and set up a room to try to learn all I could about it. I heard some of the guys talking on it. I didn't know you could do that, so I looked on youtube and saw that there's a ps3 bluetooth available.
One thing I don't know yet is how do I get into the room next Wed. night to join the other participants? I assume I have to enter a code, right?
I'd appreciate someone answering those questions for me. In the meantime I'll try to find someone who stocks the bt headset. Anything else you can tell me would be great.
Thanks, G
The code will be posted here. Go to Open Lobby on the My Home screen. In the Lobby screen there will be a wire frame globe icon (lower leftish), click that and enter the code.
I would suggest getting to the room about 1/2 hour before the race if possible.
BTW - headsets are not allowed during the race. For practice, it can be useful for relaying information but it can be detracting during a race. They are also useful in public races for 14 year boys to question your sexual orientation. Typed in comments are heavily edited for bad words, no such controls on voice comment.
I don't think there is any way to turn off (or turn it down) voice chat in GT5. So much for protecting the innocent children. Of course, it is more like protect adults from the children (...lord of the flies...)
Graefin10, what's your PSN name, so we all can add you? I'm RealMiniDriver on PSN, as I am here. To find the room, you can also go to the community tab, select one of us (after you've added us to your friends list) and join that particular player. I find that method easier than typing the room number.

G,
What is your PSN id? If you add us all as 'friends' then you will be able to see when we are online and playing. It is the easiest way to find the room. Our PSN id's are listed where Brad posted the standings.

My PSN id is graefin10. I'll look up your names and add them. Thanks
I wish this all of a sudden it kicking me out of PSN would stop.....
