I've rebuilt mine once, but i think it's still breaking in. I'm up to 169hp.
Hmmm, OK. I thought I was down at 172hp. So I rebuilt and had it run a 10 lap B-spec, now it is at 172... Maybe I didn't need a rebuild, but I thought I had 177 at one point, maybe I remembered wrong.
I'm at 171 right now. Not really sure if I am on the way up or the way down. I think down. 172 sounds right to me.
Ok, I MAY be able to race tonight, my internet seems to be cooperating...for now. I would be coming in with not so much practice though
I thought the hp limit was 170 for the MX5? Mine has been at 174 for weeks now but I kept lowering it to 170 for the last 3 races to meet the limit
Don't worry. I am trying to come up with some good excuses as to why I will not do good also, but it's not going so well for me.
I am thinking of pretending to accidentally put sport hard tires on or maybe that I have a raging case of hemorrhoids so I have to play standing up...
My internet has been especially bad this week. I'll give it a shot, but i'd say my chances of making it through either race without getting booted is pretty slim.

Same here
aircooled-sheeeit I was smokin you guys with a couple less hp then the rest apparently The standing up thing made me
MX5 HP should be 170ish. I think they come new with 168 stock. Mine is up around 172 now, probably in need of an oil change; I've never done a rebuild. The lobby's closest setting is either 167 or 177... so 177 is where I set it.
On a side note, some of the settings seem unnecessarily restrictive. Not sure I why I can't set the limits to exactly the number I want for HP and Weight.
Have fun tonight. I am in a hotel in KC getting ready for a presentation tomorrow morning. Someone save the replays and send me the results (I usually just take a picture of the results on my phone).

Me neither. ^^;;; Though I may have to concentrate on doing only the MX5 races for the rest of the season until I can get the 2002 Turbo under control and on the track for my part.
I think I made a mistake. When I bought my MX5 the hp was quite a bit below 170 so I did the first bump on the engine and have been lowering it to 170 to practice. Then I saw a post above that says they have more than 170. Question: am I legal if I lower it to 170 or do I have to buy another one and start over???
Also the rules don't say that you CAN mod the suspension but it doesn't say that you can't. I noticed that it appeared that some of the cars in the pics. were sitting quite low. So susp. mods. or no???
Thanks. Hope we all stay logged on tonight.
The engines are supposed to be left alone. The HP gain is from break in, which seems to be somewhat variable, somewhere around 170.
Do anything you want to the suspension... fix it until it's broke!
You probably should buy a new Miata and start over since you can't undo engine changes. You may end up with a fatter torque curve then everyone else if you use the HP limiter.
If you are out of time it will probably be OK to run with what you have tonight, just make sure not to do too good.
Which reminds me, I guess I should remember do a check on all the cars before the race to make sure everyone is setup right (e.g. ABS off).
Nope, doesn't look like i'll make it, 70-80%, I can make it in and it'll keep me connected to psn, it will just kick me off the server with that percentage.........sigh
You'll need to log in to post.
