Don't want to jinx myself... but i remember being extremely fast at SS7 in the Supra, and only losing because i caught the draft about 3 seconds too early on the last straight.
I think i might be able to give Hunter some trouble.

I try to show for every event... just am not able to these days. Kid is getting older, busier; work is promoting me, getting busier; clients are coming on from the Asia Pac region (their day starts around 3-5 local time for me); my $2012 Challenge car is being neglected....
... I'll try to be there. Right now it looks good.
yeah I should have tried to enter the races! It seemed to be nice to me. It was fun racing the TC's after until all of us got booted because the server took a massive e36m3 lol
Graefin, I hope so! But just like last night, it's a hit or miss with the server and my internets, I have no control.
Graefin10 wrote: Saloon: I came out of T1 in P1 then overshot T2 allowing Hunter through. He later over shot the 180 degree sweeper allowing me back to P1. The main straight was an M5 train up front with some interesting drafting going on. Going into T1 I couldn't tell where Hunter was and REALLY didn't want to have contact with him again, took my eye off the apex for an instant resulting in my first SC penalty. Air and Grizz also got by but Grizz went off @ the sweeper allowing me back into P3. Grizz lost the draft and the race was set. I checked top speeds on his and my cars and found the Commie to be a little down on top speed. If he could have stayed in the draft . . . The only mystery left for me to fathom was why Air kept falling back to me a couple of times. SC penalty, damage?? Kept my hopes up but I checked and didn't see any damage. He was probably talking on the phone again. Another well earned win Hunter. Grizz we had two good runs going on. Your driving has steadily improved and I'm convinced that the changes you have made to the cars worked for you. Celica and RMD, again you two had it going on. Good race for all from what I could see. Too bad T.J. and mdsm couldn't have stuck around. Well, I can finally change oil and wash these two bad B'mers, max them out, stick some RS tires on them and use then again from time to time for open room comp. So NASCAR next week. I STROOOONNGLY suggest as many of us as possible get together to practice this one. The more practice we get drafting and finding our way through the turn-a-rounds and kinks the better. Loose the draft in this one and it's over. I may be available after 8:00 or 8:30. Air mentioned earlier about He, Hunter, and I practicing @ SS7. I experience both staying in the draft and loosing it. Staying in it is better.
I'd have loved to Grae, but if you think Nick's connection is bad, you should see mine. Makes no sense. Maybe I try again soon.

At least it looks like the good is greater than missing the races. I like hearing about success in jobs and business increases in this economy. That news should lift all our spirits.
NickF40 wrote: mndsm, you have NO idea haha but at least I have competition on connection lol
No... seriously... I can race with you outside of the GRM leagues. Mndsm here is pretty awful. He's got you beat in spades.
His only advantage is that he doesn't seem to drop out of rooms. He just lags like crazy.
I ran my home stuff through speedtest.net.... and it got an f+. THAT bad. My cell phone does better. Fortunately, work was kind enough to WFH me, so I have a business class line. Once I have time... well you can figure out the rest. Ask Grizz or Celica how choppy my car is on the track half the time, it's comical.

I topped out at 183 when I was drafting you. Didn't think to raise the top speed on the commie that much.

Better not forget it next week. (Note to self: don't forget it next week)
What's the top end on a Nascar anyway?
And convienently, I already have one all tuned up and ready to go thanks to the 625 series. Or I might use the old version of the Redbull Nascar because it's broken in and sitting at around 650PP.
wow, ok yeah I may be a hair better in connection haha my internet isn't really that bad, it's fine with EVERY other racing game but the GT5 server is just plain e36m3 and don't agree with my interwebs. I don't know what's worse, disconnecting 95% of the time or lag. I have experience with lag and it is comical to watch but usually annoying, so yeah, not sure what's worse lol if you've noticed by my leaving message though.....yeah disconnectings fun!
do I lag on anyone else's?
Hey Grizz and Brad. Is Skyrim an online game like WOW or game system only? I used to play Oblivion on my computer but I think my wife threw it away. I don't think she liked the sound of it. That was the best non-race computer game I ever tried. Although other than WOW I never really got into any other than racing games.
In reply to Graefin10:
This is my first Elder Scrolls game and it is fantastic. It's a single player game, no subscription required. An excellent investment.
If that pic works, you can put your pictures into your Photo Album and access them directly from the "GT5 My Home" site.
If you can, please join me tonight to practice at SS7. With only a 4 speed, gearing is critical. I think mine's about right but I'd like to be sure. How about you?
If possible, I'll turn on my PS around 8:00 and keep watching here and on the PS for someone else to show up. 3 would be better than 2 but 2 will work. I've seen a few of you guys on-line for the last few days but you were always doing something else so I didn't send a message. I will tonight though.
I did the NASCAR Cape Ring time trial last night. I got below 1:42 in practice but not during the trial. I finally got frustrated with it and quit. Still got the GT5 Academy GTR though. I ran the "Supercar" race with it and won by just changing the tires. It's basically just another tuner car but a pretty good one.
Edit: I found out I had forgot to set the spoilers for a short course - DOH!
Hope to see some of you guys tonight.
I think i did the Cape Ring NASCAR without much problem. They DO like to swing that back end out though, don't they?
I'm out for tomorrow. I'll be on the road.

I will try and log in around 5 (6,7,8) and see if you are around. I can only stick around for an hour and a half or so, but I do need to get some tuning / practice in.
Testing reminder: If anyone has the opportunity to test what a good Shuffle Ratio will be for the next series, that would be very helpful. I tried to look for stuff online. The only thing I found was that some liked a very low ratio (1 or 2).
I will also try and get the next session thread up today or tomorrow with the rules and track list. The one thing that needs to be decided is whether to make the Dec 28 race optional since it might be hard for some to participate (including me), or just do a push on that week. Or if someone wants to come up with a wacky (no points) idea for that week, that might be good.
Also, I will have to miss two of the races in the next series (Jan 4th, Jan 25). Unless we want to skip those (officially, certainly anyone can show up for practice / fun) I will need an alternate room host. Grea seems like an obvious choice if that is the case.
In looking through the posted rules I have a slight change to the final standing:
GT: Hunter is the winner in a rather convincing domination of most of the events he participated in (won all but 2).
Saloon: Although a points tie between Hunter and I, Hunter gets the victory on the bases of most first place finishes. Hunter had 5 1st places, I had 3 and Grea had 2. All in all a very close series if you happened to drive an M5
So it's a sweep for Hunter.
You'll need to log in to post.
