Ya, it was only like two weeks old in the top pic. Also the camera sort of blurred it out. I don't have a more recent one.
I've had facial hair for 30 years and feel naked without it. It looks like you have the same situation I do- not very full on the sides. That's why I have a mustache and goatee. I like that. My sons are hairier than I am and both have full beards. Whatever.
In reply to Jay:
If the beard covered up more of your fugly mug, I might have to go with it. But being what it is, I say "no beard".
You look like a kid without a beard.
Plus, your like me and need a little help defining your jaw. I think the beard does a good job of this.
I wear a short beard, shaved on the neck, and I allow it to grow up higher on my cheeks (which takes a very long time). In the catering industry which is dominated by women, men with any facial hair is desired.
You need to decide if you like getting carded all the time, or if you'd rather be described as "distinguished-looking".
No beard. Maybe 10% of the male population can pull off wearing one without looking like a homeless person, and you're not one of them.
I'll refrain from offering an opinion -- given that my ability to grow a beard is about as limited as Jeremy Clarkson's ability to actually say something I would want to hear.
