I am really torn. I have a choice between a GTI, a Saab V6 Aero sedan, and a Mercedes C230K. All are in great shape and have been well maintained. All are manual, have leather, and navigation. I really can't decide which one I like better.
On a side note I am thinking that if I buy another VW I will have to get a flat billed cap. If I buy a Mercedes I will have to wear gold chains and stuff the trunk with untaxed cartons of cigs. But what accessory do I need if I buy a Saab?
If you buy a Saab, you need Uggs.
I vote the Saab, assuming that Aero still denotes "turbo."

I'd say MB because of RWD

How about option D?
None of those are really good in any way
GTI - assuming it is a fairly recent car, it will likely be plagued by significant problems, and you will get a tan from the check engine light
Saab V6 Aero - if it weren't the V6 it would be better, this design was ill concieved in a good day, with only half of the engine driving the turbo and oil sluding issues. If you want a Saab, get a late 90's 9000 Aero or CSE
C230K, considered to be one of the most uninspired M-B Models ever, with a terrible engine note and transmission, just a boring car to drive, and also built when M-B was trying to build the car down to a price point
There are plenty of other better choices that are similar in market and price point
BMW - E46 323/328/330, E39 - 528i, E34 - 535/540
Honda - Civic Si, Acura TSX, Accord V6 coupe 6-spd
Nissan - G35
Subaru - Legacy GT or WRX
Mazda 6 or Mazdaspeed6

Except for the BMWs all of those cars are far too reliable for me. As far as VWs go I have 3 already so the only real reason that I would consider buying another is because I already have all the tools and software to do all of the repairs myself.
I really liked the Saab and the Mercedes though I will say that the Saab felt much faster. I am still tempted by an 06 rx8 that is for sale near my house. My fear is that it is at the tail end of the bad run of motors from 04 and 05.
I am not sure on the v6 saabs.. but I know my i4 turbo can be a REAL pain to work on. Once I get mine painted.. I need to worry about figuring out how to replace the alternator
The lover of oddball cars in me says the Saab....if it truely has both the V6 and manual transmission.
But to be honest, I'm not sure I'd buy any other these, but that's because I do want something halfway reliable.
The electrical "gremlins" present after 50,000 in any VW take the thrill out of owning any of them. I would love to own, among other things, a New Beetle 'vert but the poor car wouldn't be worth what I've paid for...EVER, unless it was free.
The V6 in the Saab, and the M-Bs 230K engine are also less than stellar designs. The cars they power? Not all that bad, but since both are available with different engines...if the money was available, that is where I'd go with those choices.

That Merc is a pretty rare find in a manual, right? Of those 3, it'd be my choice.
But I'd actually rather any of the BMW's suggested by Sonic.
Of those three, I also vote Saab.

I'll take a vote for Saab too. Silly Swedes.
There's no swede left in a late model Saab. GM choked out all the talent/quirk in the company.
I think the answer to this question is no.
IF, it absolutely HAS TO BE one of these 3, then the Saab....but otherwise, the answer is no.

The Saab is out. The owner doesnt want to deal. Im now leaning toward an 06 Rx8.
I think my life would be easier if I stopped getting my grief from cars. I should just drive a Camry and go to a dominatrix to get my abuse...

Now that's us'n your dipstick, Jimmy!
well, at least if you use a dominatrix.. you get a safeword to stop the pain and suffering. With a VW it never ends

Fine, you people win...
I drove a Mazdaspeed 6, and I found one with leather and nav for a good price. And it is definitely an all around better car than the Saab or the other cars I was considering. I have tried to find a locally available Subaru Legacy GT but I am having no luck.
