Baby ringneck snake. Probably just hatched a few days ago - it's tiny!

One of my co-workers caught it in the building. I took a few pictures and let it go in the woods. It's only the second time I've seen a ringneck in the wild, although they're apparently pretty common.

I find them in the yard a few times a year. We usually keep them a day or two in the terrarium to show the kids how snakes work, then let them go. The only one we kept a while was one I rescued from a spider web. Poor guy was all tied up and probably on death's door. Got him back in shape but feeding him was weird. Really picky. In desperation I tossed a tiny feeder goldfish in his little water bowl. Bingo! I had the only ring neck in the world who thought he was an anaconda. Little guy would chill out in the water dish and wait for a snack. Just bizarre, but he was feeling frisky when we let him go a few days later.
Little yard snakes are awesome.

Wow, that's really cool!
I don't have any problem with sneks.
