Oh, man. I spent the last 12 months on a low carb diet and lost 30 pounds. Now we have Halloween candy in the house ... way more than we need, and I'm afraid I'll gain all that loss back in the next few days. Anybody else have a problem with Halloween candy on the house? I love chocolate. And we bought chocolate for Halloween. But we bought way too much. I'm doomed.

Just don't eat it, get candy you don't like.  Oops, too late, you already got it.

Yeah, doomed, but maybe, you donate it to a shelter or something the day after, whatever is left.

You're not going to gain 30 pounds in the next few days, a few pieces aren't going to hurt you.

If you can't control yourself with some candy around all that weight you lost will be back soon enough. Enjoy a couple pieces, it won't kill you. Control and moderation are something you need to learn if a diet is going to be successful.

This!  Ye gads, man!  You people ever hear of self-restraint?  It's a wonder you all aren't a bunch of obese, cigarette smoking, gambling, opiod-addicted bunch of promiscuous drunks.

Hey, if I didn’t know better, I could almost take that as a lifestyle criticism except for the promiscuous part…I know for a fact that I’m struggling to get all the way up to monogamy.

WTF! I started this thread as a light hearted piece on Halloween candy and it gets to this? I know I'm not going to gain 30 lbs. on a bag if Hershey miniatures. And regarding self-restraint, I exercised  that for the past year on my low carb diet. Incidentally, I currently weigh 165 lbs. so folks, lighten up. Pun intended.

Hey, we obese, cigarette-smoking, gambling, opiod-addicted promiscuous drunks are always light-hearted.  Also light-headed.

I take all the leftover candy into the office the next day. Other people are more than happy to consume the extra calories I don't need.
