My parents hit their 70th anniversary last month. I doubt they'll get to 75, but who knows. Congrats to the Carters on their milestone.
Ovid_and_Flem's brother knows them, and has been hunting with the president. It kinda floored me when he told me that, as I didn't realize the secret service would let anyone near a former president with a loaded gun.
The guy continues to amaze me - another one of those ass kicking WWII guys that doesn't let E36 M3 hold him back.
Maybe he just missed it but I believe he had full intentions to be in the war.
Happy Anniversary to the Carter's.
A proud Navy vet who still lives in the house he and Rosalynn built in 1961. I wish a humble person like Jimmy Carter could still get elected to the Presidency, regardless of his politics.

In reply to bluebarchetta :
For the longest time he taught adult Sunday School and if you got in line early enough you could attend his class. I'm way more whiny and the biggest Bob Costas at age 58 than he is at 96.

I've worked in that house. I've also been in that Sunday School class many times. I went to his church.
10 years of full time volunteering as a Superintendent at Habitat for Humanity's main office let me work directly with Mr Carter on many projects. Several JC Workcamps, a recreation center in Plains, etc.
He's an incredible person.
