I'm always keeping my ears up for a TIG welder (wether i can afford one or not...) and came across one on CL but i'm unfamiliar with it. I keep hearing rave reviews of their little mig for the money so i'm wondering if this is along the same lines.

having used Miller Dynasties professionally i'm not expecting that, just a nice ac/dc home welder and this one even runs 110/220v.

experiences?

Reviving this thread from the dead. I took the MIG Pak back to Crappy Tire, it was missing parts and had clearly been opened. Not a first for them.

Now I'm looking for Tig instead. DC only would be fine. Looking at the Chinese cheapies (any made in Taiwan, usually much better and I feel better buying from a democracy), any input welcome.

Thx

Check out thermal-arc and HTP welders. Both are a step above most of the Chinese tigs. If you do go Chinese I would go with either Everlast or Longevity. They both seem to have decent warranty and support. That said I don't have any personal experience with either of them so be sure to do your own research.

I have an everlast microtig 185 and I'm pretty impressed with it. Good on aluminum and steel.
