277 mph in a production car is pretty incredible. Some might say top speed bragging rights are pointless but my inner 12 year old thinks it's cool.

In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :
Rent? Pretty sure a decent radar/laser detector and Waze would be almost as good. :-p
Fastest I've ever driven was 180. I don't think I can visualize going 100 mph faster. Geez, imagine it... there you are, flying along at a buck and a half or more and there goes a Svedish rocket with 3 digits of delta vee differential.
It boggles mind, these top speed records. I remember topfuel cresting 300mph and thinking it was the baddest motorsport ever. (Yes, there's land speed. But that's different to me. Still badass...but open lake bed vs. Asphalt). And now we've got 3 serious contenders to triple ton (Chiron, venom...something and agera r) that in theory, are production cars, factory stock, and street legal.
I thought it was funny. Bugatti just made a huge deal of their record and Christian Von Koenigsegg basically just went "hold my beer and watch this E36 M3." Twice.

There's nothing in Pahrump except contractors working at Creech and Nellis that don't want to live in Clark County and brothels. Which, when you think about it, makes a lot of sense.
But yea, it's a really straight piece of road which is well maintained.

Front Sight is there too, and it's a real blast!

Its funny how slow it looks when he slows to 180.
