Shot this morning with my N900, the moth is about 1.5cm long. I put it in macro mode, locked the autofocus and then moved the phone to focus on it, then I bumped up the contrast slightly in GIMP.

That moth looks huge. But when you put it in perspective of 1.5 cm it sounds a little less gigantic.
