On a different note:
I like this image because it shows just how large a single country in Africa is. Not only that, but the whole DRC is pretty much without any local government besides well...warlords.
China steps in, offers money to warlords, and buy the resources out from under them. China instills relatively organized peaceful governance, and profits from it. They've done nothing different than we did 30/20/10 years ago. They are just pursuing new markets.
I should change my location to Kisangani then....

Re, Kony: I pretty much agree with Slick. Sure the guy is a bastard, but he's been inactive in the region for quite a while now, and the whole campaign could potentially cause more harm than good. That, plus, the "smug indie-ness of it all" makes the whole thing kinda hard to digest.
