The thread about smokers reminded me that I need to find a good temp probe in the next week or two. We are having folks over for Rosh Hashanah and smoked brisket is on the menu.
The last time I smoke brisket I found that the probe on the grill read about 10 degrees different than my instant read that I normally use to check internal temps for grilling. As a result I think I waiting a bit too long for wrapping to get through the stall and ended up with the flat being a bit dry, but the point was perfect. I only had one probe, and that was in the point cut.
I'd like to find one that has at least 2 probes and some alerts to notify my when a target temp is reached. BT/WiFi would be great so I can be doing other things around the house and get notified if it reaches the target temp.
Let me know what your favorite temp probe is for use with smokers and grills.
Thanks!
