Given the amount of cool garage solutions I see on here, I'm hoping some of you might have a few spare ideas to help me with repurposing this compact workstation cabinet.
It measures approx 52"h x 36" w x 28" d. The drawer sides are about 10".
I'm thinking it needs a set of wheels. Deffinately a new colour or covering. The bottom draws would make a good space for power tools. But then what do I do with the workspace top half?
It needs to either be a useful garage work space or good dedicated workshop storage.
Here's the cabinet in question

It would make great fender flares.

Hahaha, they'd be the boxiest of box flares ever!
Is the top section big enough for storing jackstands if the shelf is removed? They are usually my biggest PITA when organizing the garage, uh, I mean moving...

They should fit, and I know what you mean about them getting in the way and being a pita.
That means I could also possibly store drain trays and funnels with them to.

I would not mount wheels to that cabinet. If you put anything heavy in it, it could become unstable and fall over. It's tall and narrow (not deep). Most office file cabinets like that only allow you to open one drawer at a time so that the unit doesn't become top heavy and fall forward. Otherwise they are good for garage storage. I repurposed some metal cabinets I got from work but they hung on the wall.

That's an awesome idea, I might just get another cabinet just for that.

Ahh, well spotted, I'll go back and fix that. My grasp of engrish is spectacular at times...
In reply to jimbbski:
Yeah, fair point, and its pretty damn heavy even whilst empty so probably not much benefit to having it on wheels.
Ive been cleaning and reorganizing the rest of the garage and I'm starting to think it might make a good home for all my body gear. Paint, thinners, spray guns, hand tools, detailing gear... The top shelf area will fit a 5 gallon drum comfortably

"Reorganizing" is spelled like "drawer".

Ftfy, though I shouldn't have. Organise is the British spelling and in Australia we use British English.
So its grey, colour and realise for me. Not gray, color and realize
In reply to daeman:
I always spelled it grey, but I'm from Ohio so...
'round chere we pronounce "drawers" as "draws", anyway.
As deep as those drawers are, it looks like a good candidate for the bigger power tools, like your Skil saw, sander, jig saw, etc. Maybe rattle cans and automotive fluids in a drawer, etc.
Your [sic] welcome, y'all!
You said more are available so grab an additional three, connect them all together as per the top view diagram below, and put the hole (misspelled for fun) assembly on a lazy Susan turnstile thingie.
Super stable, high wall space to storage volume ratio, and you’ve got a secret stash in the middle for expensive tools, pron, booze, whatever.
just start putting stuff in it..
It would be a pretty neat setup for a hobby like model building, fly tying, or a storage and work bench for RC/model train/slot cars etc...

OK it's settled! I'll be making a canoe out of it!
But in reality its going to become my bodywork toolbox.
I can fit 5 gallon drums in the top section, plus I'll put in some brackets for spray guns and some kind of sandpaper organiser.
The slide out tray will be converted to a draw for hand tools, Dolly's, air sanders, body files and sanding blocks etc.
One bottom draw will be paint, filler etc.
The other will be electric buffs, cutting compound, polish and detailing gear.
I know i could have found some other cooler use for it, but at least I can get all my body work gear into one spot now and can close it all up and not have to deal with it when not doing anything auto body related.
All input was greatly appreciated... Except for the canoe guy!
Did anyone say target practice yet?

Nope, great suggestion, but unfortunately I can't as I live in a stupid "no fun guns" country :(.

I'm pretty sure that he was referring to the spambot in the post above his. Canoe is our slang for spam.
Repurpose it as new car fenders by selling it to your local salvage yard. Spend money received on a cold refreshment.
