So does anyone know how long the planned route will take, and what the rover will do after that route has been completed?
I like how the other rovers lasted for years after they were expected, and continued beeming information back.
Curiosity, being larger, I would think would be far less likely to get stuck, and also be able to cover more ground.

Primary mission is one Martian year (about 2 Earth years). Of course, the "primary" mission of the MERs was 90 days. You're right..they build em right in Pasadena!
I don't know if even they know where they're going yet. I know they want to see some bedrock, that's the reason they sent it to the bottom of a crater. Press conference yesterday said they're only about 6km away from the mountain in the center, they may start there first. Especially since they're already pointed in that direction.
