Growing up in Ottawa, we used to borrow movie projectors and reels from the NFB and watch them at home.
A friend - Ottawa here on the forum - has the Hinterland Who's Who theme as a ringtone. He travels internationally a lot and says it's great for finding Canadians of a certain age in an airport when the phone rings.

LOL, while I'm a "no cup to cities that can grow palm trees" fan, I also recognize that natural ice is getting harder to find, even in some Canadian locales. I had multiple choice for hockey ponds in my Quebec childhood, even autocrossed on a local lake. The ice hasn't been that thick the last few years. I understand it's 44 degrees in central BC today ,too....
The "Hinterland" theme ring tone is priceless.
I mean, even Toronto is a little borderline by my rules. But at least it's a theoretical possibility :)
