This reminds me of the TV show WKRP Turkey Drop. When Les, the newsman, threw turkeys out of a helicopter as a publicity stunt. Turkeys can't fly.

There. Fixed that for you.
Wikipedia said: While large domesticated turkeys are generally unable to fly, smaller, lighter domesticated turkeys known as heritage turkeys and wild turkeys can fly. In domesticated turkeys the ability to fly depends directly on weight, while even heavy adult wild turkeys can fly well enough to avoid predators by taking off and flying up to 100 yards (91 m) and perching in tree branches. Turkey poults (chicks) cannot fly for the first two weeks after hatching.
Here are some videos of flying turkeys.

FWIW, I'm close enough that I could listen to them, but have better taste
There was that time Uncle Pete tripped on his way to the table and landed smack dab right on the edge of the table. That turkey must have flown about 13 feet.

Les didn't throw them out.. he was cowering in the opening of a shop doing his best impression of the newscaster who witnessed the hindenberg disaster
I think AC threw them out...afterward I believe he said "As God is my witness...I thought Turkey's could fly".
Les did a play by play as the Turkey's apparently mounted a military-esque counter-attack....
From what I remember about it....
There's a flock of about 18 wild turkeys on our property, and I can tell you from experience that they can fly. Not very well, and not very fast, but they can fly. I've thought my husky was bringing home turkey dinner on more than one occasion while out hiking in the woods with her. And I've seen one big male go up to the top of an old pine and bend it WAAAAAAY over, to the point I was pretty sure it would break, woods some resilient stuff.
WOW and I thought the stunts bubba the love sponge pulled were bad. I don't miss Tampa morning radio. The car scene and stuff to do, most definatly.
Ah yes, Bubba the Love Sponge. If there ever was a screaming ass, he is it. I have met him. Don't want to again.

As god is my witness, I thought "turkeys" doesn't have an apostrophe!

Yep, it was Arthur. He and Herb Tarlek had come up with the scheme, but kept it secret because they wanted to prove to Travis & all the new rock & roll guys that they could still run a radio station (in the WKRP story timeline, the T'giving stunt isn't long after KRP's format change).
I love that show. I was working in radio at that time, and they got a lot right about the industry back then.
