a true redneck uses his big truck to do work, then uses it to play on the weekend.. then tries to get it fixed on sunday night before they go to work at 5am for their 13 hour shift on monday...

Pretty much this.

I've always said this. Most hillbillies have no idea they are hillbillies. Most rednecks try really hard to affirm that they are in fact, more redneck than the other guy trying hard to be a redneck.

I'm from deep in the coalfields of Southern West Virginia. My last name is Hatfield. My first cousin 3 times removed is Devil Anse Hatfield. When I was 12, we moved to North Carolina. I had no idea I was a hillbilly until my classmates told me so, everyday.

big difference between rednecks and hillbillies … my definition of rednecks isn't the nicest you could come up with … whereas hillbillies are just that .. us mountain folk

Hillbillies type with a lot of extra periods... rednecks don't... ...

I like the show. The one that sticks out the most is when they needed a chainsaw. I don't remember the specifics but they harvested a bunch of walnuts and pressed them down get the oil, sold that and bought an old motorcycle, got it running and traded it for a different motorcycle then took that one and traded it for the chainsaw. Or that was the plan, I'm not sure if they actually got the chainsaw. Anyway I found it interesting.

I come from a long line of hillbillies, and probably a few rednecks as well. Mom (with 13 siblings) came out of the Daniel Boone national forest in KY.
