My ramblings on crossing that "fine line". Warning: it's a site for women, for those who may be so threatened.

Came through it with my hootus correct side out and no Herculiner on it. (Although I nearly got paint on it yesterday... long story similar to Herculiner dude's.)

Car parts in the house? Perfectly normal. I've rebuilt engines in my living room, stored wheels and tires, kept new parts inside (don't want them to get wet etc, now do we?) and stored complete motorcycles inside. I forgot: I have rebuilt motorcycle engines on the kitchen table before.

One of these days I'll be rich enough to have superchargers under my bed.

Since I obtained a garage most car parts live there, but there are still some secretly hidden away in spare bedrooms of relatives and quietly layed in waiting under the deck where they can stay dry if not warm. I have to admit my jakson racing supercharger did live on top of my book case in the living room for many years before moving to a place of honor in my garage along with many of my projects to get to one day. I guess I am an addict after all.

I've been accused of starting a business just to pay for a shop so I can build cars and stuff. Sometimes I believe it my self. Just wish it wasn't over 50 miles away so I could be in it more after hours.

I bought my present house because the entire basement is garage/shop (2200 sq. ft.) It keeps the car parts mostly out of the house proper. What was your qustion again?

Thanks guys. I don't have car parts under my bed, but holy smokes I've realized I'm an addict. I don't drink or smoke, but it sure manifests itself in other ways – all of three of my vehicles have had engine transplants and there were 3 sets of rims for each in the basement until I purged a few. A friend just emailed me about a miata for sale, and even though I'm worse than skint, I'm still probably going to have a look at it.

Yep. That's what I would do. You are hooked, all right.

One of my driving partners once called me an "honorary guy" after a week spent driving across Alaska without being able to gross me out.
