With the new season of Hot Ones just starting, we decided to go ahead and order the 10 hot sauces they will be using for the season. Just received it last night so we haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Between Sriracha, different sambals, and hot sauces we typically already have around 12 or so on hand at any given time. So this weekend it might time to make some wings and try the challenge ourself.

Los Calientes is one of my favorites, I also have the last dabX2 but find it more for noviliety then taste. Elementary school friend of mine starting a business sell different hot sauces. I am more for taste then extreme.

My middle son (9) has gotten into hot sauce because his older brother (12) can't handle anything spicy. Kid got an assortment of hot sauces for Christmas twice so far. He's got a bottle of something with Pepper X in it that will get your attention. He's not about just the heat though, he's particular about flavor too. Kid is like a little hot sauce sommelier. I think it's awesome that he enjoys it.

Oh yes, I don't care for the hot sauces that are pure pain. 4, 6, and 7 are the ones I'm really most interested in trying.

But we figured it would be fun to give them all a try and see if can make it.

I'm surprised they didn't go with Steve Os hot sauce this season.

Haven't watched it yet, I despise Seth Rogan so I'm skipping the first episode of this season.

Be interested to see how the testing goes though. I don't use enough, and I'm the only one in the house that likes it, so buying the pack is just pointless for me.

I remember when Jalapenos were "hot" and Habaneros were crazy hot.  Modern super hot sauces have kicked up the pain level.  I still dabble, but I know better than to eat too much of it, if you know what I mean.

My wife and I have done the challenge a few times now. Depending on how big your wings are/how hungry you are/how serious you want to get: we ordered plain wings from a local spot and put a dollop of the first sauce on one side of the wing and ate that half, paused for a couple minutes and then put the second sauce on the other half and ate it, and so on.

After #5 it starts getting into the novelty realm. The original Da Bomb tastes awful and is the most painful by far.

To further simulate the experience we separately thought of questions to ask each other ahead of time. The struggle is real to talk and ignore the heat.

Bon appetit!

In reply to RevRico :

Seeing the peppers you grow and the salsas/sauces you make the challenge would be a breeze.

Oh yeah, voiding the aftermath can be far from pleasant.

They do have a lot of the sauces available individually or in different three packs.

The 10 pack was $120 shipped
