be sure to check into the 300s. I believe its a .223 upper, right? Probably on your list.
Yep the 300 uses the standard .223 receiver set, barrel (obviously), magazine and bolt are where the major differences are.
The company I am talking to also makes AR10 (.308) receiver sets so that will work into a whole other set of calibers we can work with. I don't know yet if they will work with me on doing some custom desgins I have rattling around in my head but if they do I think there is some potential for people to go "oh E36 M3 " at the unveil. If they can't do the work I know another place that can but they are more spendy.
Oh yeah I like the Rebel Arms name sadly it is already taken.
FINALLY I have gotten around to pics of the two AR builds I have left here at home.
First up is my "go to" pack around rifle. If I am in the woods this is normally sitting in my truck or on my back. It is built off a PC lower, 16" chrome lined pencil barrel, minimalist upper receiver, 1-4x scope (this one is a cheapy that I don't mind knocking around, MI BUIS and full Magpul furniture. Weight without the scope is just shy of 5 lbs.
This one is the long range build. 20" fluted heavy barrel 1:8 twist with a free float tube, Harris bipod, currently wearing a Vortex 4-16x50 scope until I can afford something else, Magpul ACS stock, A3 upper receiver, PC lower with swapped internals, trigger pull is at 3 lbs and is very crisp. Shoots about .5 MOA.

Very pretty. I wish I could afford to have you build me a toy. That is out of my league, though.

More than likely I won't be up and running until next year sometime and I do plan on having a more "budget" oriented rifle based off the carbine up there so keep me in mind if you are want one in the future
