...on "rare-ish" car parts.

I have all four turn signals for a 40-ish year-old car. Most of these cars have rusted away by now. There must be someone, somewhere, who needs these parts.

I don't want to finance my retirement, but then again, I don't want to give the things away either.

What's the best place to start for price guidelines and finding a suitable home? (One Ebay ad is asking $60 each.)

Go to Advanced Search on eBay and check Completed Auctions.

Does the car have an enthusiast site? If they have classifieds, look there. People on those sites are passionate about them and think cars/parts are worth their weight in gold, but it will give you an idea of what someone is willing to pay. Whatever the price they are asking, I'd ask 10-20% less just to be fare and realistic.

If its something you can't find, and don't know when the last ones were available, just throw em up on eBay for no reserve......

Seats are the most difficult things to sell. I've had beautiful leather Porsche Recaros that I've practically had to give away. Everybody wants them until they find out how much they cost to ship.

Pick up the latest copy of "Hemming's Motor News". You'll often find ads. for cars and parts for even rare cars there. Good luck!

if you just want them gone and don't really need the money, then offer them up for sale for half of the lowest ad you find... this gets them out of your hair nice and fast.

Ask on the Classic Motorsports forums?

I found where some bid a pair of fronts up to $160 on ebay. Maybe $200 for all four???

Since I can't find an enthusiast site except for some of "us," I guess I'll start with our own classifieds.

Thanks all.
