I'm an ER doc and like wrenching so I have to keep my hands looking presentable or my patients are powerfully unimpressed. Just get a few boxes of nitrile gloves at HF or wherever, and wear them consistently. Heavier gloves like mechanics gloves for really heavy duty stuff although the extreme HF nitrile gloves are quite rugged. Non perfumed lotion after hand washing or showering.

It really works well.

Hair conditioner as the final skin rinse in the shower. Works remarkably well, especially as I get older and drier.

Apple cider vinegar (the real stuff). Ether applied to the skin, 50:50 mix with water, or supplements, or both. It works great I have been using it for years cuts heal in days.

When I started climbing, I picked up this beeswax-based balm that works wonders on damaged skin. It comes in bar or creme form, and it heals incredibly quickly. The first time I was hooked on it was a 5-day climbing trip where every night I went to bed with bloody, cracked fingertips and I applied this at night, climbed non-stop the next day.

Climb On Products

They have another line of products called "CrossFixe" that are marketed towards the weightlifting crowd that are supposed to smell manlier; I just think they smell more like pine rosin. Both are pricy, but a little goes a long way and they definitely walk the walk. Haven't found another product that works this well...

I have bad heal callouses and love wearing flipflops, a match made in hell!

The Ped Egg worked ok, the one to get is the Microplane. Its what they use at the fancy spas, even money to a Ped Egg, and works 100x better. You can use it on your hands, feet, wherever.

Everyone has skin on their feet though, so there is that. Soaking in quarter strength vinegar(3 cups water and 1 cup vinegar) will soften the dry skin, and make the pumice stone more effective at removing the dead skin. Wash your hands to get the vinegar off completely. This will strip the oil off your skin completely though, so you really have to put lotion on after.

For the heels, try vaseline under occlusion. You put the vaseline on your heel, cover with saran wrap(regular, got it out of the kitchen, saran wrap) put on socks to hold it all together and go to bed. In the morning, the calluses on your heel will be very soft, and you can take them down with a pumice stone easily. Be VERY circumspect in using the pedi egg, again, it is like a cheese grater.
