Wife's not at home for 12 hours. That seems like plenty of time for it to hang out in one big bathroom.

Unfortunately, for pets Adorable > useful (at least that's my experience)

I did the trick with two dogs, worked. When putting their nose in it, I said ,very sternly NO and a slap on the rear and put them out doors. They got the message.
Well, maybe it's time to let the wife clean it up when she gets done with her 12 hour shift. I personally would stick the dog outside until she gets home.
Good luck.
Geez. Tough crowd.....nobody even blinks when I dress my dog as a triceratops. I was sure that was good for a laugh.

I lol'd.
I'd reinforce what has been said thus far. Its boring and frustrating as hell trying to convey the message that pooping outside is a very good thing, but once they've got it, life is much much easier.
A schedule/routine has worked well in my experience as well. In college, my roommates had two dogs. Routine was the dogs would wake me up at 7am if I wasn't up already. Let them out, they'd go pee in the yard 10 feet from the front door while I stood on the porch, then run back inside when they finished, ready for breakfast.

I housebroke the lab-mix we had by keeping her outside, she got used to going outside. When we moved and brought her with us she had to come in the house. We took her outside regularly and she went outside unless she ate something that didn't agree with her then she couldn't help it. And she would eat anything in her foodbowl, including leftover Kimchi & Rice from my Korean wife. When my wife adopted the toy poodle we have now, the dog was already housebroke and is an inside dog. We had some issues at the beginning till we figured out it is what she ate. Found a food that doesn't upset her stomach and no problems, she lets us know when she needs to go out. Basically no people food for the dog.
By your description, I would bet that some of the problem is what she's eating. The poop shouldn't be runny. Find what you're feeding her that doesn't agree with her stomach and stop giving her that. And let her stay outside for longer during the day, a couple hours. Should be easier after that.
Well... just this evening, the dog came and just looked at me. Before I could get up and start to go outside the shiny happy person dog had pissed and E36 M3 in two adjacent rooms. Right now, the king is in his wire castle. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Two things stick out from what you have said so far:
Bacon and somewhat runny poo.
If you are going to be feeding this dog Blue Buffalo, I'd knock off the "added" treats like bacon and eggs...at least for awhile. Runny poo is an indication of stomach upset. I don't know about you, but when my stomach is upset I can't control my bowel movements nearly as well as when I am feeling "tip-top". And "upset" can mean feeding a dog too much or not enough, though runny poo is usually a signal of the former.
This is the bacon, it's not really bacon. I don't give it, the wife does.

And knock on wood, following my rules of housebreaking a dog, no accidents and nearly something productive each trip outside.

Is it soft or hard? The soft chewy treats gave our old dog the runs.
Just because a product is marketed for dogs doesn't mean it won't give them the runs. After all, Tractor Supply doesn't have to clean up the mess.

Gertrude was a rescue, so I have no idea about her breeding. My guess is part beagle, part American foxhound. Those were baby pics. Here is a current one of her in the garage

The runs started with the Pedigree crap food we started with. Reason we now buy Blue Buffalo. I should say it is just random bouts of the runs now. He goes out and poops so fast sometimes, it looks like the runs if you go over and check it.
Tractor Supply cleans up his mess when we are in store just fine.

No they aren't hard like a biscuit, but they aren't soft like moist food. they rank somewhere in the middle.
