As always I watched every second of the 24 hours of Le Mans that I could. I love the whole thing. But this year I can't help but feel that I want more. I want to hear about the trials and tribulations that went into getting to the event. I want to know about last minute scrambles to get a car in the field. I want to know what happened to the steering of Paul Dalla Lana's Aston. I want to hear about the strategy of the Audi team on it's quest to try and catch the ultimately victorious Porsche team.
Basically I want to get the rest of the story. Where do I get more? I'd prefer something on paper, that I can hold in my hand. Is there a magazine that goes into more depth than just a basic rundown of the event?
I want to see a "truth in 24" style documentary for each years race. Too much?

A show just examining the packing, shipping, and delivery of all those race cars and team equipment to France I would find very interesting. The logistics of an event like the 24 Hours of LeMans or Daytona boggles my mind. Just how many hotel rooms are required to house all the team personnel?
So no one knows of a magazine that gets more in depth than just a recap of the race? There are several story lines from this years event that I really want to know more about. Maybe a motorsports magazine from Europe?
You mean stuff like this:
http://www.motorsport.com/lemans/news/porsche-chief-makes-shock-le-mans-admission
Or if the ACO is going to try and get the licensing pulled for the corner worker that was waving green under the slow zone yellow causing the Audi wreck?
I don't know if there is anything in one spot like what you are looking for. maybe next year when I go to LeMans I can help answer that question.

Just got this from a friend:
Since 1978, the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans proposes to revive the text but also by the image but also the race preparations and fever that grips the Prefecture de la Sarthe throughout the week before departure. Each car and driver are presented. Preliminary tests with the explosion of joy after the checkered flag through weighing the drivers' parade and especially the highlights of every hour, nothing is missing. For the enthusiasts, a technical section with tables and statistics finishes complete the set. And making use of recognized photographers, the atmosphere continues to evolve from late afternoon, night and sunrise in a different setting from that of a conventional circuit is fully restored.

Yes something just like that! I have trouble reading articles on the internet, I get distracted way too easily and I don't find it anywhere near as enjoyable as holding something in my hands.
So Nick, they publish that late in the year from what I understand. Typically in time for Christmas. The one listed on there is for the 2014 race. I'm getting my ACO Marshall license for next years 24 so I'm on the mailing list. If I see it and remember, I'll forward it to you.
