Sure, he was in cadets all of his life. I am quite sure this is the path he will eventually end up taking. Which is weird, as he is the MOST INCREDIBLY STUBBORN PERSON IN THE WORLD. He'd actually have to get out in order to get that. He did for quite a while, then picked up a nutty immature chick for a month or two, but he's not stupid, I wouldn't hang out with him if he was. He tossed her when she started getting "move-in" and stuff after a month.

The chronic lethargy and excessive sleep are symptoms of depression, or could also be a thyroid or other issue as was mentioned. I would see if you can get him to get checked out.

^^ This, and if every thing checks out OK there is nothing else you can do. Your description fits one of my nephews to a T. We know he has no physical problems since the wife and I paid for a very thorough physical several years ago. It is now to the point that none of his family (parents, sister and 7 aunts or uncles) will have anything to do with him because he is always looking for a handout.

Some people are just berkeleying lazy. Some people make excuses for them...which is how they remain lazy.

Hell, I'm a lazy berkeley by nature. I've got undiagnosed sleep apnea, diagnosed depression, etc. I've also got a berkeleying mortgage to pay and mouths to feed. I'd love nothing more than to sit my fat ass on the couch and play Forza all day, but that's not an option.

Who's paying this berkeleyer's bills? Whoever it is, THEY'RE the problem. You seem like a good ole' Canexican ball breakin m'fer. Break this shiny happy people balls! If mommy and daddy are payin his way, shame his ass. If the taxpayer (you, presumably) is paying his way, KICK his ass!

Don't stop hanving out with him. Take him to Tim Horton's and make it rain loonies and toonies while he berkeleyin starves to death.

He's Canadian. Our military spends most of their time sleeping so that wouldn't help.

IMHO hot PoA tends to gravitate to motivated and wealthy people.

Get him to a doctor. If he doesn't have a physical problem (hypothyroidism) it might be a mental issue.
