My son has a house that has several large oak trees around it, the leaves set on the roof and have caused Moss to start growing. We have swept the leaves off but what will kill the Moss?

I've heard that zinc works. Also obviously bleach, but that will likely affect any vegetation that contacts the runoff also, if you care.
Pruning the branches back will allow the roof to dry and discourage growth.
